Many moons later and thanks to the kindness of Claudio Casalini and the estate of [Blue Gas\u2019] Celso Valli, it looked like Tony\u2019s dream for \u2018Blue Shadows\u2019 might come true.\u201d<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Avalanches - Blue Shadows ft. Earlier this year, The Avalanches hosted a surprise \u201cfree party\u201d in the capital.<\/p>\n<p><i>NME\u00a0<\/i>spoke to The Avalanches in 2020 about the legacy of their landmark 2000 debut album \u2018Since I Left You\u2019. \u201cI still remember four years [after it was released] my girlfriend at the time said, \u2018You know people say it\u2019s a really classic record?\u2019\u201d Chater said. \u201cI\u2019d never heard anybody say that. I just heard all the shit I should\u2019ve done better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have a great relationship with the album now. It sounds like a very young me made it. It\u2019s na\u00efve, heart-on-sleeve, it was never cool or ironic.
