\n\tWhen Charli xcx dropped \u201cRock Music\u201d in May, which became the lead single for Music, Fashion, Film<\/em>, it seemed to accomplish its task of being so divisive that it shifted focus from being her first post-Brat<\/em> single that wasn\u2019t related to a film soundtrack. And while it wasn\u2019t totally a rock track, and doesn\u2019t totally represent the full scope of her new album, it did prove her point: that she wasn\u2019t setting out to make the same album twice. On Music, Fashion, Film<\/em>, Charli once again pushes her limits and inspirations beyond dance-pop and into grungy guitars. \n\tAfter breaking out with her smash hit \u201cWater\u201d in 2023, Tyla has been a frequent visitor of the Hot 100; last year, she charted \u201cPush 2 Start\u201d and \u201cChanel,\u201d while this year the South African artist added her collab with Zara Larsson, \u201cShe Did It Again,\u201d to the tally. \n\tDuring a recent concert in Baltimore, Morgan Wallen surprised fans by previewing his new song, \u201cBeen By Now.\u201d Written by Wallen, Charlie Handsome, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass, Rocky Block and Taylor Phillips, \u201cBeen By Now\u201d continues Wallen\u2019s penchant for smooth, pop-tilted grooves and songs soaked in heartbreak. \u201cIf we were in the stars, they\u2019d have lined right up,\u201d he sings, seemingly resigned to the idea that some relationships are doomed to fizzle. \u2014 JESSICA NICHOLSON<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tAfter teasing her new single during her Governors Ball festival set in June, JENNIE decided to drop the summery song ahead of her headlining set at Lollapalooza Chicago next weekend (July 30-Aug. 2). Given the season of its arrival \u2014 and lighthearted subject matter, with a title that screams summer fling \u2014 \u201cLess than a Lover\u201d is lighter than some of the singer-rapper\u2019s harder hitting songs (think: \u201cLike Jennie\u201d), leaning more into airy singer-songwriter, alternative-pop territory. The Strokes, Reality Awaits<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tAfter pushing back its original release date, Reality Awaits <\/em>no more \u2014 for those ready to hear it. After a handful of festival appearances, including a particularly rousing Coachella set in April, The Strokes release its seventh album today. And as its lead single, \u201cGoing Shopping,\u201d teased, the choice of AutoTune is one that sticks around. Across its nine tracks, The Strokes continue to dance between crowd-friendly, fuzzy rock riffs and still wanting to try some new s\u2014 (\u201cLiar\u2019s Remorse,\u201d and really all three of the album\u2019s last tracks). The result? A perfectly 2026 album that touches on everything from being a kid to AI, all from a band that\u2019s never without a hot take. \u2014 L.H.<\/em><\/p>\n

KATSEYE, \u201cAnimal\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n
