It will run until September 6, and you can find out more\u00a0here.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The exhibition sees Ray and Dave collaborate with British portrait painter\u00a0Christian Furr, who has reimagined a 1968 passport photobooth picture of the brothers taken in East Finchley, North London, in a series of\u00a0mixed-media\u00a0works on paper and canvas.<\/p>\n<p>Dave cried when he first saw Furr\u2019s paintings, with the images prompting him to consider his fractured relationship with his brother. \u201cIt made me think, \u2018What the hell are we doing?\u2019\u201d\u00a0he\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were times\u00a0where\u00a0I\u00a0couldn\u2019t\u00a0stand him. And we had to work with it somehow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He had also sounded hopeful about a comeback in 2022,\u00a0saying he was \u201coptimistic\u201d about their future. \u201cI hope so!\u201d he said when asked about a reunion. \u201cRay and I have spoken about it \u2013 it\u2019s possible!\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">to @thelittleidiot Moby\u2019s criticism of our song LOLA these are the words sent to me and Ray from our dear friend trans icon @jaynecounty27 #JayneCounty. I am highly insulted that MOBY would accuse my brother of being \u2018unevolved\u2019 or transphobic in any way. https:\/\/t.co\/hBFmLPdMKH pic.twitter.com\/qYcxoMc03d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dave Davies (@davedavieskinks) March 22, 2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>More recently, the brothers presented a united front in March when\u00a0Moby\u00a0described the lyrics to the Kinks\u2019 1970 single \u2018Lola\u2019 as \u201cgross and transphobic\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Lola\u2019 by the Kinks came up on a\u00a0Spotify\u00a0playlist, and I thought the lyrics were gross and transphobic,\u201d\u00a0the electronic musician\u00a0said. \u201cI like their early music, but I was really taken aback at how unevolved the lyrics are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dave\u00a0responded that he was \u201chighly insulted\u201d\u00a0by Moby\u2019s description of his brother, adding: \u201cWhy is\u00a0Moby being\u00a0so rude about this simple song?\u00a0We\u2019re\u00a0not transphobic. Why does he have to have a go at us?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dave later revealed that\u00a0Ray had responded by asking: \u201cWho the fuck is Moby?\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap brothers\u00a0have\u00a0spoken\u00a0to\u00a0<i>The Times<\/i>\u00a0ahead of the opening of their new exhibition,\u00a0<i>The Kinks: Brothers<\/i>, at the\u00a0Gibson Garage in London\u00a0tomorrow (July 24). It will run until September 6, and you can find out more\u00a0here.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The exhibition sees Ray and Dave collaborate with British portrait painter\u00a0Christian Furr, who has reimagined a 1968 passport photobooth picture of the brothers taken in East Finchley, North London, in a series of\u00a0mixed-media\u00a0works on paper and canvas.<\/p>\n<p>Dave cried when he first saw Furr\u2019s paintings, with the images prompting him to consider his fractured relationship with his brother. \u201cIt made me think, \u2018What the hell are we doing?\u2019\u201d\u00a0he\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were times\u00a0where\u00a0I\u00a0couldn\u2019t\u00a0stand him.
