\n\tNivea revealed an unfortunate health update during a recent drive around Atlanta with CadillacChroniclesTV<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter she performed a couple of her classic hits plus a new track from an upcoming project, host Mr. Brian Freeman asked the R&B singer what she was thankful for and that when she broke the news that she\u2019s been battling leukemia.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, first of all, I was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year, and I\u2019m so grateful to God,\u201d she told Freeman. \u201cI\u2019ve been going through treatment, and everything is going great, so far. And I expect it to continue. Amen, amen, amen. Very grateful for life. It\u2019s so clich\u00e9 to say you don\u2019t know the time nor the hour, but it\u2019s true and it just helped me put a lot of things in perspective, and I live in gratitude, like, religiously, and I\u2019m just grateful for everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe\u2019s staying positive, though, as she\u2019s back focusing on her music and is currently enrolled in audio engineering school. \u201cI\u2019m doing things I wanna do,\u201d the 44-year-old mother of four said. \u201cI\u2019m definitely back into my music, and I\u2019m going to school for audio engineering. I\u2019ve always wanted to learn how to engineer, and mixing engineering in particular.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tNivea then said that she\u2019s trying to be \u201cmore present in the the moment\u201d as she continues to love her kids while also being grateful and taking every opportunity that comes her way.<\/p>\n
