\n\tM\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce\u2018s Tommy Lee is opening up about one of the darkest parts of his history.<\/p>\n

We could just drink this, but we\u2019re shooting it,’\u201d Lee reflected. \u201c\u2018This is f\u2013king wrong, and somebody\u2019s gonna die.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe members of M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce entered rehab and group therapy in the late 1980s as they prepared to record their fifth studio album, 1989\u2019s Dr. Feelgood<\/em>, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and remained on the list for 109 weeks. \u201cWe all decided we needed to go to rehab or someone was going to die,\u201d Lee said. \u201cPeople were eating handfuls of [sleeping pills] and then go out for the night. We were zombies and people weren\u2019t waking up. We\u2019re like, \u2018Someone\u2019s going to die soon.’\u201d Looking back on that period, Lee said that the band relocated to Vancouver, B.C., in order to make the album while working on staying sober together.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWe\u2019d all get together and talk about how everybody\u2019s dealing with this new arrangement,\u201d he said. \u201cOnce you start getting into therapy with the people that you work with and that are also going through the same thing, you\u2019re learning all these other things about them, and all of a sudden it\u2019s becoming really complicated at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tLee also acknowledged that sobriety has remained an ongoing journey. He told Shepard: \u201cI think three years is the longest I\u2019ve done.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe conversation adds another chapter to the band\u2019s well-documented history with addiction, which Sixx discussed in his 2007 memoir, The Heroin Diaries<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tListen to the Tommy Lee\u2019s interview on Armchair Expert<\/em> below:<\/p>\n\n
