\n\tAhead of Discovery\u2019s annual programming event, actor and comedian Ken Jeong has released \u201cOm-A-Nom (Shark Week),\u201d categorized as the first-ever official Shark Week song. The track arrives before K-Pop Shark Heroes,<\/em> a new Shark Week special that will explore how K-pop can assist in changing public perceptions of sharks across East Asia and beyond. The special mixes comedy with K-pop inspired performances and educational narration as part of Discovery\u2019s annual Shark Week lineup.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe song also features a special appearance from Grammy-nominated artist REI AMI, who fans may recognize as a member of the fictional K-Pop girl group HUNTR\/X from Netflix\u2019s breakout animated film KPop Demon Hunters.<\/em> REI AMI\u2019s appearance comes as KPop Demon Hunters <\/em>continues to appeal to fans following the film\u2019s breakout success. In addition to voicing and performing as Rumi in HUNTR\/X, the Grammy-nominated artist has continued to expand her solo career.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOm-A-Nom (Shark Week)\u201d marks an unexpected crossover between K-pop and cable TV. According to Discovery, K-Pop Shark Heroes<\/em> follows Jeong as he adopts \u201cthe power of K-Pop to transform the perception of sharks in East Asia and across the globe.\u201d The special pairs Jeong\u2019s humor with music inspired by the global phenomenon, culminating in the debut of \u201cOm-A-Nom (Shark Week).\u201d<\/p>\n

K-Pop Shark Heroes<\/em> premieres Sunday (July 26) at 8 p.m. ET on Discovery as part of the network\u2019s annual Shark Week.<\/p>\n
