The Transfer Neo E-Optimized ditches the external battery at the collar in favor of a wiring harness. Looking at pictures provided by Fox, the wiring harness connects to the bottom of the dropper, runs through the frame, and connects to the bike’s top tube display/controller.

Obviously, the battery is gone, giving the Transfer Neo E-Optimized a traditional cable-actuated look.

While Fox mentions a “low stack height” in its press material, it doesn’t specify what that number is or whether it is lower than the regular Transfer Neo. And Fox will continue to utilize the same wireless Transfer Neo lever.

Compared to Fox’s regular Transfer Neo, which spans 100-225mm of travel in 25mm increments, the Neo E-Optimized offers a longer drop. It starts at 125mm of travel, growing in 25mm increments up to its 240mm max travel, with the option to adjust down 25mm in 5mm increments.

Like the regular Transfer Neo, the Neo E-Optimized is offered at both Factory and Performance Elite levels.

Hope you have a Levo

If you want the new Transfer Neo E-Optimized, you’ll need to have a Specialized Levo. Fox says the new post is currently available only for the Levo 4, Levo R, and Levo Evo models. This is likely the reason that it is currently only available with a 34.9mm diameter.

Owners of those bikes can have the new post professionally installed at their local Specialized retailer. “Additional applications for other popular drive units are currently in development for launch in 2027,” Fox added in its press release.

And, it’s a bit cheaper. Well, sort of. A Fox Transfer Neo E-Optimized Factory retails for $659 — $200 less than the standard Transfer Neo. However, adding the Neo lever ($219) and wiring harness ($35) takes you above the standard Transfer Neo’s $859 price tag.

Or, you can ditch the Kashima and get the Performance Elite Transfer Neo E-Optimized for $589.
