--><\/p>\n<p>Daniil Medvedev is undoubtedly one of the best, and esteemed, players on the ATP Tour currently, but he is way off the heights of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> and Jannik Sinner at present.<\/p>\n<p>The star might have reached the summit of the ATP Tour in 2022, and claimed a sole Grand Slam title at the 2021 US Open, but he\u2019s fallen away from the best players in male tennis recently.<\/p>\n<p>Medvedev has won just one of his last five matches against Alcaraz, while he has lost his last five matches in a row against Sinner on the ATP Tour.<\/p>\n<p>As the gap continues to grow between Alcaraz, Sinner, and the rest of the ATP Tour, legendary coach Patrick Mouratoglou has Okay, I\u2019ll go with Medvedev.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mouratoglou continued to back Medvedev\u2019s two-handed backhand, by stating it was better than the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/Learner-Tien\">Learner Tien<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/karen-khachanov\">Karen Khachanov<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/Alex-de-Minaur\">Alex de Minaur<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/flavio-cobolli\">Flavio Cobolli<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/joao-fonseca\">Joao Fonseca<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/patrick-mouratoglou\">Mouratoglou<\/a> eventually conceded that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/novak-djokovic\">Novak Djokovic<\/a> had a better two-handed backhand than Medvedev.<\/p>\n<p>He then picked Djokovic\u2019s two-handed backhand over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/ben-shelton\">Ben Shelton\u2019s<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\">Alexander Zverev\u2019s<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/jakub-mensik\">Jakub Mensik\u2019s<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\">Jannik Sinner\u2019s<\/a>, before stating: \u201cIf you land on the GOAT, it\u2019s over!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, it\u2019s huge praise for Medvedev, as Mouratoglou clearly believes he has certain tools that are far better than the elite of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/ATP-Tour\">ATP Tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz and de Minaur are currently ranked above him, while Fonseca is considered one of the next greats, and Cobolli recently reached a Grand Slam final.<\/p>\n<p>Medvedev, meanwhile, has suffered a difficult time of it over the past few years. The star dropped outside the top 10 last season, before climbing back in with his performances this year.<\/p>\n<p>Medvedev is one of the few Grand Slam winners on the ATP Tour currently, but he has not reached the quarter-final of a major tournament since the 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/us-open\">US Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Medvedev has exited the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/australian-open\">Australian Open<\/a> at the fourth round stage, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/roland-garros\">Roland Garros<\/a> in the first round, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/wimbledon\">Wimbledon<\/a> in the third round.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the North American hardcourt swing, the Russian star currently sits at World No 7 in the ATP Tour rankings.
