Add us as <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/preferences\/source?q=tennis365.com\" target=\"_blank\">a preferred source on Google to your favourites list<\/a> for tennis coverage you can trust.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Great Britain\u2019s two leading players, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/jack-draper\">Draper<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/emma-raducanu\">Raducanu<\/a> \u2014 who are 24 and 23 respectively \u2014 have struggled to stay healthy consistently in their short careers to date.<\/p>\n<p>Edmund, who was the British men\u2019s No 1 for much of 2018 and 2019, was only 30 when he retired from tennis in August 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The 2018 Australian Open semi-finalist suffered a host of serious injury issues from 2021 onwards that meant his career at the top level effectively ended when he was in his mid-20s.<\/p>\n<p>Asked about the concerning theme of top talents in British tennis struggling with injuries, Edmund did not have an explanation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know. It\u2019s really hard to say because a lot of the guys, including myself, we all had our own personal team,\u201d said the two-time ATP title winner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn\u2019t like it was a British tennis management setup. We all had our own people. I used foreign people, as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI honestly don\u2019t know. If we did have the answer, we would be in a better place. It\u2019s really hard to tell.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no doubt, the way that tennis is, if you\u2019re out, you\u2019re not earning money, you\u2019re losing momentum in your career, you\u2019re losing ranking positions.
