\n\tW Sound, the music project helmed by Ovy on the Drums and WestCOL, has renewed its strategic partnership with Warner Music Latina, as well as expanded its distribution, Billboard <\/em>can exclusively announce today (July 22).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe first chapter of the partnership arrived in early 2025 with \u201cLa Plena (W Sound 05)\u201d featuring Be\u00e9le. The breezy and sensual afrobeats-meets-dancehall fusion hit No. 1 on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 chart, hit Top 10 on the BillboardHot Latin Songs and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, and earned a 2025 Latin Grammy nomination for best urban\/urban fusion performance, among other accolades.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    \n\t\u201cWestCOL and Ovy on the Drums have built W Sound into a hitmaking platform where music and digital culture connect in a way that feels authentic to this generation,\u201d said Roberto Andrade<\/strong>, managing director at Warner Music Latina, in a press statement. \u201cThe global response to \u2018La Plena\u2019 proved the scale of that vision, but we are even more excited about the momentum ahead. Together, we are expanding W Sound\u2019s reach across key markets while continuing to create the cultural moments that will reshape the future of Latin music worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n

    \n\tThe W Sound project officially kicked off in 2024 with \u201cSoltera (W Sound 01)\u201d featuring Blessd. Since, the Colombian hitmaker, whose real name is Daniel Echavarr\u00eda Oviedo, and the viral streamer born Luis Fernando Villa \u00c1lvarez, have released nine sessions, recruiting artists such as J Balvin, Ryan Castro, and Dei V, to name a few.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    \n\tEarlier this month, the pair\u2019s \u201c5 Estrellas (W Sound 23)\u201d with Myke Towers reached No. 1 on both the Billboard<\/em> Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay charts.<\/p>\n

    \n\t\u201cMusic and streaming are becoming more connected every day, and our goal with W Sound has been to help bridge those worlds together in a meaningful way,\u201d added Carlos Barruecos<\/strong>, WestCOL\u2019s manager. \u201cThis renewed partnership gives us the opportunity to keep building on that vision and bring W Sound to audiences around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

    \n\tWith the renewal, W Sound hopes to expand into other markets including the U.S., Mexico, and Spain, as well as secure more international collaborations.<\/p>\n
