He released the first track, \u2018Plans\u2019, last month.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the first verse of the jaunty, country cut, Flowers sings: \u201c<em>They cut all the shifts right before the summer\/ Then the bastards forced me on to swing\/ I\u2019m parking some white sedan\/ While the owner tries his hand rolling dice\/ It\u2019s just another day in paradise<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The last line appears to be a nod to Phil Collins\u2018 1989 track \u2018Another Day In Paradise\u2019. CREDIT: Press<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The upcoming LP focuses on Flowers\u2019 early years, spending his childhood in the small town of Nephi, Utah. He looks back on how his father would drive him around the countryside listening to Johnny Cash\u00a0and\u00a0Waylon Jennings\u00a0on the record.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Thrasher\u2019 is said to find the vocalist at his most personal and vulnerable, delving into a chapter of his life that he\u2019s rarely written about before, and reminiscing about these formative years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I\u2019ve gotten older, I\u2019ve found my way back to my father\u2019s music \u2013 \u2018Country-Western\u2019 (as he called it) \u2013 and discovered that the stories I carry really feel most at home in the skin of this beautiful American tradition,\u201d Flowers explained previously.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019ll take \u2018Thrasher\u2019 out on a UK, Ireland and North American solo tour later this year. The run of dates includes a concert at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London in October. Find any remaining tickets here (UK and Ireland) and here (North America).<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with <em>NME<\/em>\u00a0last year, Flowers spoke about his plans for two new solo albums, describing the first as more of a \u201cstep backwards\u201d from \u2018The Desired Effect\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s more in the \u2018Flamingo\u2019 direction,\u201d he told us. \u201cI made two South West records, if you want to know the truth. One is a romantic South West record, and the other is a narrative South West record which picks up where [The Killers\u2019 latest album] \u2018Pressure Machine\u2019 left off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled about both of them, and they\u2019ll both come out before the next Killers record \u2013 but I\u2019m thrilled about the next Killers record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for future material from the Las Vegas band, Flowers told <em>NME<\/em> it was \u201ca little too early to say\u201d what their next era would sound like. However, he revealed that they wouldn\u2019t be returning to the slick, synth-y style of standalone singles \u2018Boy\u2019\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018Your Side Of Town\u2019\u00a0(both produced by\u00a0Stuart Price).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not put it out unless it is the best,\u201d the frontman said. \u201cWe\u2019ve already discussed it. It\u2019s gotta be so good or it\u2019s not worth it.\u201d He then confirmed that the new music would feature \u201call four members\u201d, after they reunited for the 2024 song\u00a0\u2018Bright which is out on August 21 via Island. He released the first track, \u2018Plans\u2019, last month.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the first verse of the jaunty, country cut, Flowers sings: \u201c<em>They cut all the shifts right before the summer\/ Then the bastards forced me on to swing\/ I\u2019m parking some white sedan\/ While the owner tries his hand rolling dice\/ It\u2019s just another day in paradise<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The last line appears to be a nod to Phil Collins\u2018 1989 track \u2018Another Day In Paradise\u2019. He looks back on how his father would drive him around the countryside listening to Johnny Cash\u00a0and\u00a0Waylon Jennings\u00a0on the record.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Thrasher\u2019 is said to find the vocalist at his most personal and vulnerable, delving into a chapter of his life that he\u2019s rarely written about before, and reminiscing about these formative years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I\u2019ve gotten older, I\u2019ve found my way back to my father\u2019s music \u2013 \u2018Country-Western\u2019 (as he called it) \u2013 and discovered that the stories I carry really feel most at home in the skin of this beautiful American tradition,\u201d Flowers explained previously.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019ll take \u2018Thrasher\u2019 out on a UK, Ireland and North American solo tour later this year. The run of dates includes a concert at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London in October. Find any remaining tickets here (UK and Ireland) and here (North America).<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with <em>NME<\/em>\u00a0last year, Flowers spoke about his plans for two new solo albums, describing the first as more of a \u201cstep backwards\u201d from \u2018The Desired Effect\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s more in the \u2018Flamingo\u2019 direction,\u201d he told us. \u201cI made two South West records, if you want to know the truth. One is a romantic South West record, and the other is a narrative South West record which picks up where [The Killers\u2019 latest album] \u2018Pressure Machine\u2019 left off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thrilled about both of them, and they\u2019ll both come out before the next Killers record \u2013 but I\u2019m thrilled about the next Killers record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for future material from the Las Vegas band, Flowers told <em>NME<\/em> it was \u201ca little too early to say\u201d what their next era would sound like. However, he revealed that they wouldn\u2019t be returning to the slick, synth-y style of standalone singles \u2018Boy\u2019\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018Your Side Of Town\u2019\u00a0(both produced by\u00a0Stuart Price).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not put it out unless it is the best,\u201d the frontman said. \u201cWe\u2019ve already discussed it.
