There\u2019s not a single decision here that\u2019s been thoughtlessly made, nor that I imagine Nolan himself couldn\u2019t easily defend.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span><\/div>\n<p><em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u2018s David Rooney cautioned that the film was somewhat \u201cuneven\u201d, but praised the ensemble cast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDamon is superb, going to dark places seldom if ever explored in his previous roles,\u201d he added. \u201cHathaway is a model of steely self-possession masking vulnerability; Pattinson bites into his character\u2019s villainy with gusto.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere,<em>\u00a0<\/em><em>Deadline<\/em>\u2018s Gregory Nussen, singled out <em>Spider-Man<\/em> star Tom Holland\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis performance certainly seems tinged with the courageous naivety of Spider-Man, insisting on trying to influence those much more cunning and physically capable than he,\u201d wrote Nussen. \u201cHolland may be playing a child, but his performance is bursting with a newfound maturity. It is his strongest one to date.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Confirming <em>The Odyssey <\/em>is Nolan\u2019s best-reviewed film to date, it also received a massive 96% score from 198 reviews so far on <em>Rotten Tomatoe<\/em>s ahead of\u00a0his 2023 Oscar winning epic <em>Oppenheimer <\/em>(93%) and <em>The Dark Knight <\/em>(94%)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere<em>, <\/em>Nolan responded to the backlash over
