People make lots of mistakes when it comes to setting up the TV in their living room Sometimes it\u2019s mounted far too high up the wall. Sometimes the couch is positioned far too away. However, the number one mistake in my anecdotal experience is relying on the TV\u2019s own sound. Even though newer TVs keep improving with better detail, color, and contrast, the built-in speakers still don\u2019t hold a candle to the audio you can get from a dedicated a sound system. They\u2019re not too expensive either. Right now, Best Buy has this Samsung 3.1-channel soundbar with a wireless subwoofer on sale for half off. Normally $400, you can now get it for just $200 for a limited time.<\/p>\n

The HW-B650 soundbar from Samsung will be a night and day difference from what your TV is currently capable of producing on its own. With it, you can achieve realistic 3D sound that gets projected from all sides, up and down. The system has support for Dolby Atmos as well as DTS Virtual: X which adds an incredible depth to the audio you get when watching movies and shows.<\/p>\n

Enhanced Dialogue<\/h2>\n

A common complaint when watching modern TV shows and movies at home is it seems like the dialogue is impossible to hear. Yet if you turn up the volume too much so you know what the actors are saying, suddenly any other sound effect becomes glass-shatteringly loud. It\u2019s a no win scenario. You\u2019re stuck just turning on closed captioning if you want to understand what\u2019s being said.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not an issue with this Samsung soundbar. It has a dedicated center speaker which is primarily used for dialogue. You can rebalance the speakers to your preferences, or even just turn on Voice Enhance Mode, bringing out the dialogue volume while keeping everything else like background music and action low. It makes for a much more pleasant viewing experience.<\/p>\n

Likewise, you can use Night Mode when watching late after dark in order to lower the bass. This way you\u2019re late night movie marathon won\u2019t keep up your neighbors or housemates. The included subwoofer can really open up the sound, adding powerful bass. It is nice though to be able to turn that down when it\u2019d be more of a nuisance than an enhancement.<\/p>\n

Since the soundbar connects to your TV over HDMI-ARC, you\u2019ll be able to control your volume of the sound system using the same remote you are already using on your Samsung TV.<\/p>\n
