Bowling for Soup singer Jaret Reddick’s son Everett had asked for his first ever crowd surf before he fell<\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The frontman of American pop punk band Bowling for Soup has confirmed his 13-year-old son is “fine” after fans accidentally dropped him during his first ever crowd surf.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Jaret Reddick said in a social media post that “sometimes gravity takes over” while referring to the incident at his band’s concert at Cardiff Castle on 4 July.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He wrote: “What a night! Even if they dropped my child on his head… be safe out there, kids.” <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Reddick went on to thank those in the crowd for helping his son after the fall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“I really appreciate everybody looking after him when he was on the bottom of the pile,” he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The band, best known for their hit tracks 1985 and Girl All the Bad Guys Want, were on tour in the UK alongside English punk and folk singer-songwriter, Frank Turner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In the video, Reddick explained how, ahead of the show, his son asked him if his first time crowd surfing could be at Cardiff Castle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Reddick agreed, and in response to concern from his team that his son could be dropped, he said “they are not going to drop him because I’m going to tell them ‘hey don’t drop him, this is my kid”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Reddick thought “everything was fine” after seeing his son fall during the crowd surf because Everett was smiling<\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During the crowd surf, Everett fell before he was quickly picked back up by the fans in attendance, leading Reddick to believe “everything was fine” as he was brought back over the barrier, smiling at his dad.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

After the show, Reddick said he went to his dressing room to see his son and noticed he was “holding something on his head”. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Reddick explained that his son had fallen head first, hitting the plastic cover for the cables which run from the stage back to the soundboard. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Everett was taken to the emergency tent at the venue following the fall, but his dad said he was now “fine”, adding “he’s had a concussion before”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Despite his first crowd surf not going exactly to plan, Reddick said his son had not been put off by the experience and had made clear he was “going to do it again”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
