Kevin Durant took shots via social media on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Heard this one before?<\/p>\n

One to usually muse online about the general state of media, the 16-time All-Star called out Fox Sports analysts and hosts Colin Cowherd and Nick Wright by name on his Instagram.<\/p>\n

Durant posted a screenshot of a graphic displaying nine prominent sports analysts with the caption prompting users to pick one to be removed. In one post on his story, Durant tagged Cowherd.<\/p>\n

\u201cPack that lame (Colin Cowherd) up,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

On the next story, he took his shot at Wright, tagging him as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cBasketball would actually move forward if (Nick Wright) wasn\u2019t involved. Hold up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Notably omitted from Durant\u2019s callouts, despite being an available option on the graphic, was ESPN\u2019s Stephen A. Smith, with whom Durant has had prior public feuds. In 2015, Smith reported on \u201cFirst Take\u201d that Durant was considering joining the Los Angeles Lakers in the latter\u2019s then-upcoming 2016 free agency.<\/p>\n

Durant later refuted Smith\u2019s report after an Oklahoma City Thunder practice, telling reporters, \u201cI don\u2019t talk to Stephen A. Smith at all. Nobody in my family \u2014 my friends \u2014 they don\u2019t talk to Stephen A. Smith. So, he\u2019s lying.\u201d<\/p>\n

He again addressed the rampant rumors involving his upcoming free agency with another shot at Smith.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you ask me a question, I\u2019ll talk about them,\u201d Durant told reporters in 2015. \u201cBut like I said before, I have people who I talk to about everything, and I know for a fact they didn\u2019t talk to him, so he\u2019s making up stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Smith later fired back at Durant with an on-air rant on \u201cFirst Take\u201d that included a veiled warning to the 2013-14 NBA MVP.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t want to make an enemy out of me,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n

You have great times, but there\u2019s maintenance. You\u2019re left disappointed, then you get rid of it and are like, \u2018Yeah, that was a lot.\u2019 It was fun a couple times a year.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Durant played 78 games in 2025-26, which was the most he\u2019s played since 2018-19 before he tore his Achilles in the 2019 NBA finals at the end of his Warriors tenure. He averaged 26 points per game in 2025-26 for Houston and was named to the All-NBA Second Team, proving that in the modern era he\u2019s still among the game\u2019s elite. He also surpassed Michael Jordan<\/a> for fifth place on the NBA\u2019s all-time scoring list.<\/p>\n
