That includes theme-park rides, and the only bummer we have to report about Kong x Godzilla: The Ride<\/em> is that you\u2019ll need to find yourself in Seoul, South Korea, to check it out.<\/p>\n

A press release describes it as a \u201cmultimedia dark ride,\u201d as well as \u201cthe world\u2019s first attraction to integrate Legendary\u2019s Monsterverse into a fully immersive theme park experience,\u201d and it\u2019s joining Lotte World Adventure\u2018s slate of attractions starting July 24. Here\u2019s an effects-heavy trailer setting the mood but not giving too much actual insight into what to expect.<\/p>\n

\u201cSet in the vast subterranean realm of Hollow Earth, the birthplace of the Titans, Kong x Godzilla: The Ride<\/em> delivers an experience of breathtaking scale and immersive world-creation,\u201d the press release explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn this thrilling new adventure, riders will board Hollow Earth Aerial Vehicles (\u2018HEAVs\u2019), the advanced exploration craft used by MONARCH, the secret human organization at the heart of Legendary\u2019s Monsterverse. The attraction features two interconnected eight-passenger ride vehicles that transport guests on an approximately 11-minute adventure through Hollow Earth. Along the way, massive media screens, towering animatronics, dynamic ride motion, and immersive special effects combine to deliver a thrilling, cinematic experience unlike any other.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGuests become new MONARCH recruits and embark on a high-stakes mission into Hollow Earth. When a sudden volcanic event sends the subterranean world into chaos, Titans run wild, escalating a crisis that threatens to spread beyond Hollow Earth. Recruits must follow Kong into the heart of the danger, help restore balance, and discover how Godzilla factors into a conflict that could threaten the surface world.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a lot to pack into 11 minutes, but you don\u2019t really need too much story if you have giant monsters chasing you around. The press release also notes there will be exclusive Kong x Godzilla: The Ride<\/em> merch available, which comes as no surprise.<\/p>\n

While there\u2019s no mention of this ride expanding beyond Lotte World Adventure, there are still more traditional ways to enter the Monsterverse afoot; Godzilla x Kong: Supernova<\/em> is hitting theaters next year, and an as-yet untitled Monarch: Legacy of Monsters<\/em> spinoff is in the works at Apple TV.<\/p>\n
