world&#8217;s first vaccine against Bundibugyo Ebola, as an outbreak of the rare virus strain continues to spread across Congo and Uganda.<br \/>\n    <\/h2>\n<div class=\"c-article-content c-article-content--health js-article-content\">\n<p>The University of Oxford\u2019s Vaccine Group has launched the world\u2019s first human clinical trial of a vaccine against Bundibugyo Ebolavirus amid the ongoing outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. <\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"c-ad u-show-for-mobile-only\">\n<div class=\"c-ad__placeholder\"><img decoding=\"async\" healthy adults aged between 18 and 55. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery step that brings a safe and effective vaccine closer helps strengthen our ability to protect vulnerable communities, save lives and bring this outbreak under control,\u201d said Nicole Lurie from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), adding that the University of Oxford\u2019s work is a \u201cpivotal milestone in the response effort\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Oxford team is now recruiting volunteers for the study. against Bundibugyo Ebolavirus amid the ongoing outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.\u00a0The Phase I clinical trial will take place in Oxford and will assess the safety and immune response of the vaccine in 50 healthy adults aged between 18 and 55.\u00a0\u201cEvery step that brings a safe and effective vaccine closer helps strengthen our ability to protect vulnerable communities, save lives and bring this outbreak under control,\u201d said Nicole Lurie from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), adding that the University of Oxford\u2019s work is a \u201cpivotal milestone in the response effort\u201d.The Oxford team is now recruiting volunteers for the study.
