Unforeseen complications led to multiple surgeries and a string of difficult setbacks,\u201d the GoFundMe page explains. \u201cThe cancer and everything that comes with it have left her with significant physical limitations so she\u2019s handling this the only way she knows how: one day at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GoFundMe campaign continues to say that Finch\u2019s friends and family are no longer sufficient to help with the level of around-the-clock care required, and are now seeking outside help for the musician.<\/p>\n<p>Donations will help cover physical therapy, in-home nursing care and other home care, medical expenses, legal fees and much more. \u201cThese funds will also help to ensure Jennifer\u2019s life work keeps making noise long after this moment,\u201d the campaign says.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, Finch\u2019s cancer was initially believed to be addressable with treatment and radiation. However, it \u201cprogressed rapidly\u201d and required her to \u201cundergo multiple surgeries\u201d that \u201chave resulted in significant physical limitations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>R.E.M\u2018s Michael Stipe is among those sharing the fundraiser, writing on Bluesky: \u201cPunk rock and alternative music would not be what it is or where it is without Jennifer Finch. Thanks, xx Michael\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>L7 was originally formed in 1985 and released their seminal, eponymous debut album in 1987. They went on to release five more albums before splitting up in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>They reunited with their classic line-up in 2015, with the band comprised of singer and guitarist Donita Sparks, guitarist Suzi Gardner, bassist Finch and drummer Dee Plakas.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, L7 released their first material in 18 years \u2013 in the form of\u00a0anti-Trump track \u2018Dispatch From Mar-A-Lago\u2019. It was followed by \u2018I Came Back To Bitch\u2019 back in February. The \u201990s cult icons also released the\u00a0documentary,<em>\u00a0L7: Pretend We\u2019re Not Dead,\u00a0<\/em>which was nominated for a VO5 NME Award in 2018, and released their latest album statement \u2013 has asked them to continue on without her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are all devastated by the news and are surrounding her with love, protecting her privacy and dignity, while helping raise the resources she urgently needs for the care ahead,\u201d L7\u2019s frontwoman Donita Sparks said in a separate statement. \u201cJennifer is family, and we want her to feel the full strength of the community that has loved and supported her for so many years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finch\u2019s friends and family have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with the high expenses of her treatments, Unforeseen complications led to multiple surgeries and a string of difficult setbacks,\u201d the GoFundMe page explains. \u201cThe cancer and everything that comes with it have left her with significant physical limitations so she\u2019s handling this the only way she knows how: one day at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The GoFundMe campaign continues to say that Finch\u2019s friends and family are no longer sufficient to help with the level of around-the-clock care required, and are now seeking outside help for the musician.<\/p>\n<p>Donations will help cover physical therapy, in-home nursing care and other home care, medical expenses, legal fees and much more. \u201cThese funds will also help to ensure Jennifer\u2019s life work keeps making noise long after this moment,\u201d the campaign says.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, Finch\u2019s cancer was initially believed to be addressable with treatment and radiation. However, it \u201cprogressed rapidly\u201d and required her to \u201cundergo multiple surgeries\u201d that \u201chave resulted in significant physical limitations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>R.E.M\u2018s Michael Stipe is among those sharing the fundraiser, writing on Bluesky: \u201cPunk rock and alternative music would not be what it is or where it is without Jennifer Finch. They went on to release five more albums before splitting up in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>They reunited with their classic line-up in 2015, with the band comprised of singer and guitarist Donita Sparks, guitarist Suzi Gardner, bassist Finch and drummer Dee Plakas.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, L7 released their first material in 18 years \u2013 in the form of\u00a0anti-Trump track \u2018Dispatch From Mar-A-Lago\u2019. It was followed by \u2018I Came Back To Bitch\u2019 back in February.
