the title for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Linda Noskova met Karolina Muchova in a topsy-turvy final, which saw Noskova failed to convert five championships points in the second set.<\/p>\n<p>After a Muchova fight back to level the score, Noskova eventually won the Wimbledon title for the first time after winning the deciding set 6-3.<\/p>\n<p>The all-Czech final has many wondering how a nation of just 10.9 million people is able to generate a litany of top tennis players in the men\u2019s and women\u2019s game.<\/p>\n<p>On the ATP Tour, both Jiri Lehecka and Jakub Mensik and currently sit inside the top 20, at World No 12 and 19, respectively, while Tomas Machac has also achieved a career ranking high of World No 20.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s game is even more stacked with the likes of Noskova, Muchova, Marie Bouzkov\u00e1, Barbora Krej\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1, Kate\u0159ina Siniakov\u00e1, S\u00e1ra Bejlek, Nikola Bart\u016f\u0148kov\u00e1 and Tereza Valentov\u00e1 all currently inside the top 50 of the WTA Tour rankings.<\/p>\n<p>So what is the reason behind the current stacked generation of Czechia talent? According to Martina Navratilova, it\u2019s down to the culture of the country.<\/p>\n<h2>More Wimbledon news<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/linda-noskova-speaks-after-winning-the-wimbledon-title\">Linda Noskova speaks for the first time after winning first-ever Grand Slam title at Wimbledon<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/facts-stats\/linda-noskova-karolina-muchovas-prize-money-ranking-points-wimbledon-final\">Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova\u2019s prize money and ranking points from Wimbledon final<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the BBC ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/wimbledon\">Wimbledon<\/a> final between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/Linda-Noskova\">Noskova<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/karolina-muchova\">Muchova<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/martina-navratilova\">Navratilova<\/a> said: \u201cThere are clubs everywhere [in the Czech Republic], every small town has two, three or four clay courts and there is so much more good coaching now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd competition \u2013 they have lots of tournaments and they play sets when they go to the club, they don\u2019t just hit balls, they play sets and learn how to compete in singles and doubles, which teaches you to be a better tennis player.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why you see the Czechs all have a complete game,\u201d added the multi-time Grand Slam champion. \u201cEven the baseliners can still volley.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Navratilova was born in Prague, and intially represented Czechia during the early days of her tennis career. However, she was stripped of her citizenship in 1975, after she asked the United States for political asylum.<\/p>\n<p>Navratilova officially became a US citizen in 1981, but in 2008, she also reacquired Czech citizenship, so she has more than a vested interest in the top stars from the nation currently dominating the sport.<\/p>\n<p>Noskova\u2019s win at Wimbledon saw her become the sixth player from the nation to claim a Grand Slam title.
