The Col du Tourmalet.\u00a0The\u00a0Tour de France\u00a0wouldn\u2019t be the same without these Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9an brutes.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019ve been crushing quads almost every year since 1910, the year the peloton first entered the Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es in a notorious course known as the \u201ccircle of death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, like stage 3 to Les Angles, stage 6 over the Aspin and Tourmalet could be considered fake news.<\/p>\n<p>It traverses Cols, but the finale won\u2019t feel like a mountain stage.<\/p>\n<p>The summit of the Tourmalet arrives 40km from the finish before a dragging false-flat grind to Gavarnie-G\u00e8dre. Expect a select group to go to the line in an 18km finale that\u2019s not a climb, but certainly not flat.<\/p>\n<p>Will a GC contender strike for victory?
