one newcomer to the top 10 of the WTA Rankings after Wimbledon while Coco Gauff has a chance to return to No 3.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 grass-court Grand Slam has delivered several shocks early on with defending champion Iga Swiatek, world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka and No 2 Elena Rybakina<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-features\/live-wta-rankings-points-dropped-sabalenka-rybakina-swiatek-anisimova-bencic-drop-wimbledon\"> all failing to reach the business end<\/a> of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their early exits, Sabalenka and Rybakina will hold onto the top two positions in the rankings after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/wimbledon\">Wimbledon<\/a>, but there are set to be quite a few changes behind them in the top 10.<\/p>\n<p>Having previously failed to make it past the fourth round at Wimbledon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/coco-gauff\">Gauff<\/a> has not only reached the quarter-final this year, but has gone on to make it to the last four after beating fellow American and good friend Jessica Pegula.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday was, I don\u2019t know, if you told me I would be in the semis of this tournament, I\u2019d be, \u2018You\u2019re funny (laughter).\u2019 Especially like my match in Berlin, the match last year here, the last two years just not winning anything on here,\u201d she said after her 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it was just more like how too just because so many three-setters, and it\u2019s like how am I getting out of these matches, just winning them. Also just playing against Jess.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m confident in myself and the player that I am, but I\u2019m also looking at things, I know tennis. Yeah, if I wasn\u2019t myself, I would take maybe her to win with that game style she has on this surface.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut because I am me, I pick myself. I think it was just more so that reaction came from like a third-person point of view rather than necessarily me in the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Wimbledon News<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/coco-gauff-wimbledon-win-semi-final-belief\">Coco Gauff\u2019s Wimbledon win threw up so many familiar questions \u2013 and gave one big answer<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/greg-rusedski-says-the-first-thing-he-would-do-with-alex-eala-if-he-became-her-coach\">Greg Rusedski says the first thing he would do with Alex Eala if he became her coach<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>WTA Rankings Top 10 Before Wimbledon<\/h2>\n<p>1. Aryna Sabalenka \u2013 9,090<br \/>\n2. Elena Rybakina \u2013 8,143<br \/>\n3. Iga Swiatek \u2013 6,409<br \/>\n4. Jessica Pegula \u2013 5,881<br \/>\n5. Mirra Andreeva \u2013 5,653<br \/>\n6. Amanda Anisimova \u2013 5,523<br \/>\n7. Coco Gauff \u2013 4,879<br \/>\n8. Elina Svitolina \u2013 4,471<br \/>\n9. Karolina Muchova \u2013 3,878<br \/>\n10. Victoria Mboko \u2013 3,670<\/p>\n<p>That comeback win has given her a big boost in the rankings as she has climbed three places to No 4 and she could still return to No 3 for the first time since April. Gauff only had 10 points to defend following her shock first-round exit last year, but she has now earned 780 points with her run to the semi-final.<\/p>\n<p>But it won\u2019t be easy as she can only move up one more spot by winning the title.<\/p>\n<p>First, she has to get past <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/karolina-muchova\">Karolina Muchova<\/a>, who beat Naomi Osaka, in the semi-final and the Czech is in good form on grass as she won the Bad Homburg Open in the lead-up to Wimbledon.<\/p>\n<p>Muchova is up three places to a new career-high No 6 and she could jump as high as No 4 if she is the last woman standing at SW19 come Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<h2>Live WTA Rankings (8 July)<\/h2>\n<p>1. Mirra Andreeva \u2013 5,293<br \/>\n6. Karolina Muchova \u2013 5,648 (+3)<br \/>\n7. Iga Swiatek \u2013 4,539 (-3)<br \/>\n8. Amanda Anisimova \u2013 4,353 (-2)<br \/>\n9. Elina Svitolina \u2013 4,351 (-1)<br \/>\n10.
