Wait, what now?<\/p>\n<p>Buried at the bottom of an information dump focusing on the \u2018Vertex\u2019 \u2013 we\u2019ll get back to that shortly \u2013 is the news that the 4.4-litre BMW V8 has been \u201cupdated\u201d\u2026 by slashing its previous output down from 626bhp to 533bhp.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<p>Funny \u2018update\u2019, that. Especially as it\u2019s now slower to 60mph\u2026 by four tenths (was 3.8s, is now 4.2s). Still, torque remains the same \u2013 553lb ft \u2013 it&#8217;s now available in a delightful green (pictured above), and we\u2019re told this \u2018updated\u2019 V8 \u201cfeatures a more characterful and deeper exhaust noise to give a truer V8 sound\u201d. Protesting, much?<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, there\u2019s also the option of a 380bhp petrol straight-six (the \u2018P380\u2019) mild hybrid too, said to feature \u201cnew technologies to improve real-world fuel economy\u201d. This P380 is available on all Defender variants \u2013 from the 90 right up to the monster 130 \u2013 including that aforementioned new \u2018Vertex\u2019 spec.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<p>This version of the Defender (below) features extended new front and rear bumpers, a bigger grille, some new fog lamps, gloss black detailing, yellow calipers, lower body cladding, 22s and a choice of body colours that include white, black, green, two greys and a white matt wrap.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in this \u2018update\u2019, there\u2019s an \u2018Extended Exterior Pack\u2019 that comes with new bumpers and wheels, too, the ability to paint your Defender \u2018Namib orange\u2019, a six-seat option for the 110 said to improve getting into the back row, loads of accessories and \u2013 yay! \u2013 more artificial intelligence inside. Can\u2019t get enough of that, really.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<p>Prices kick off from \u00a358,655 for the lowliest 90 S, rising to \u00a3157,245 for the range-topping V8 OCTA Black.
