nearby, you might just want to take a look at Bude in Cornwall.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s because Bude Summerleaze has just been named the best beach in the UK by The Times.<\/p>\n<p>Having spent five weeks driving around Britain and Northern Ireland reviewing 607 beaches, the publication\u2019s chief travel writer Chris Haslam has concluded that it doesn\u2019t get better than this.<\/p>\n<p>The southernmost of two beaches in the town, Haslam says: \u201cSummerleaze, overlooked by the castle, bordered by the River Neet and the canal, and backed by the caf\u00e9s on the wharf, feels more refined.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bude is part of the South West Atlantic Coast section of the path.<\/p>\n<h2>Other beaches in the UK\u2019s top 50<\/h2>\n<p>As part of the top 50 ranking, The Times has also crowned regional winners up and down the country.<\/p>\n<p>In South England, the title went to Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, a spot once described as \u201cone of the quaintest and loveliest places in the kingdom\u201d by poet Henry Wadsworth.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in England, the best beach in the East is Cromer in Norfolk, which is home to Europe\u2019s last existing end-of-the-pier summer show.<\/p>\n<p>The best sandy stretch in the North? That would be Low Newton-by-the-Sea in Northumberland.<\/p>\n<p>In Scotland, the Outer Hebrides\u2019 Horgabost impressed Haslam, while in Northern Ireland it was Tyrella in County Down that got a top because Bude Summerleaze has just been named the best beach in the UK by The Times.Having spent five weeks driving around Britain and Northern Ireland reviewing 607 beaches, the publication\u2019s chief travel writer Chris Haslam has concluded that it doesn\u2019t get better than this.The southernmost of two beaches in the town, Haslam says: \u201cSummerleaze, overlooked by the castle, bordered by the River Neet and the canal, and backed by the caf\u00e9s on the wharf, feels more refined.\u201dBude is part of the South West Atlantic Coast section of the path.Other beaches in the UK\u2019s top 50As part of the top 50 ranking, The Times has also crowned regional winners up and down the country.In South England, the title went to Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, a spot once described as \u201cone of the quaintest and loveliest places in the kingdom\u201d by poet Henry Wadsworth.Elsewhere in England, the best beach in the East is Cromer in Norfolk, which is home to Europe\u2019s last existing end-of-the-pier summer show.The best sandy stretch in the North?
