\n\tMadonna has always been a master of reinvention, but this time around, she\u2019s working in extension via the release of her new album Confessions II<\/em>. Out Friday (July 3), the project is a follow-up to her 2005 masterpiece Confessions on a Dance Floor<\/em>, which found the Queen of Pop \u2014 in partnership with the album\u2019s producer Stuart Price \u2014 focused on disco, electronica, synth and dance pop.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso produced by Price, the 16 tracks on Confessions II<\/em> focus on much of the same, presenting lush, cerebral productions focused on the club as church and dancing as spiritual work. The project, Madonna\u2019s 15th studio album since 1983, features the previously released singles \u201cI Feel So Free,\u201d \u201cLove Sensation\u201d and \u201cBring Your Love,\u201d with the latter track being a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter, who Madonna appeared with on stage during Carpenter\u2019s headlining set at Coachella in April.<\/p>\n

\n\tBeyond Carpenter, Confessions II<\/em> includes collabs with Belgian star Stromae (\u201cMy Sins Are My Savior\u201d), Dutch dance titan Martin Garrix (\u201cBizarre\u201d), Colombian reggaeton star Feid (who sings on \u201cRead My Lips\u201d and who, with other collaborations on 2026 albums by Skrillex and John Summit, is having a big year in the dance world) and Madonna\u2019s own daughter Lola Leon. The song featuring Madonna and Leon, \u201cThe Test,\u201d explores their mother-daughter relationship via lyrics such as \u201cSometimes I think you\u2019d wish I\u2019d go away\/but my shadow stays\/and it\u2019s OK to be yourself,\u201d with the vulnerability of the subject matter matching the confessional nature of the 2005 original, which was released when Leon was nine years old.<\/p>\n

\n\tAltogether, Confessions II <\/em>is a stunner, playing as a modern take on club music that simultaneously evokes the genre\u2019s previous eras without ever falling into pastiche. Stream it below. <\/p>\n
