\n\tLil Wayne is asking for forgiveness after his no-show at the scheduled kick-off to his 20+ Years of Carter Classics North American tour on Tuesday (June 30). \u201cMy Maine fans I\u2019m so sorry,\u201d Wayne wrote in his Instagram Story on Wednesday (July 1) after he did not make it to the stage for his headlining slot at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to local station WABI, after opener 2 Chainz finished his set, concertgoers \u201cwaited through a lengthy delay before being notified around 11 p.m. that Lil Wayne, 43, would not take the stage.\u201d Disappointed fans who traveled long distances for the show told the outlet that they were upset by their favorite rapper going AWOL. \u201cI came here for Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz and it was the most terrible experience. We drove over six hours to be here,\u201d said fans Rita Sack, who made the trek from Nova Scotia for the gig.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNever mind the money. It\u2019s like, moments in life and that was going to be a moment. [My friend] left her six-month baby for the first time. Like, it\u2019s people\u2019s time. Just don\u2019t waste people\u2019s time,\u201d she added. \u201cWe paid for Lil Wayne. Like, the least you can do is come out for a minute, apologize, you know? Like, just take the moment and be like, hey guys, sorry, not feeling it, feeling a little sick.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAt press time a spokesperson for Wayne had not returned Billboard<\/em>\u2018s request for comment on missed gig.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe tour is slated to hit the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on Thursday night (July 2).<\/p>\n
