UPDATE (July 1):<\/strong> Alan Jackson\u2019s final concert, held at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on June 27, helped raise more than $2.25 million to find cures for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, the rare nervous system disorder that he revealed in 2021 was affecting his performance. Jackson\u2019s donation of a portion of the show\u2019s ticket sales to the CMT Research Foundation inspired a wave of additional donations through fan support and matching contributions. CMTRF will use the funds to advance potential treatments for CMT, which currently has no approved therapies.<\/p>\n

PREVIOUSLY (June 28): <\/strong>Alan Jackson played a career-spanning set of 24 songs at his final concert Saturday night (June 27) at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, over four decades after moving to Music City to chase his dreams of being a country music singer-songwriter.<\/p>\n

\n\tJackson spearheaded his special \u2018Last Call: One More for the Road \u2013 The Finale\u2019 show, bringing his decades of touring to a close with a massive concert that not only sold out Nissan Stadium, but brought fans who didn\u2019t score tickets into the stadium to pack out downtown Nashville for a livestream of the event.<\/p>\n

\n\tEarly on in the evening, before Jackson\u2019s set, artists including Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, Riley Green, Thomas Rhett, Luke Combs and Carrie Underwood paid tribute to the country hitmaker, performing some of their favorite songs from his extensive catalog, which includes 26 No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay chart hits.<\/p>\n

\n\tChurch performed a rendition of Jackson\u2019s heartbreaking \u201cSomeday,\u201d Wilson performed the lovestruck \u201cTall, Tall Trees,\u201d Johnson sang \u201cJob Description,\u201d and Thomas Rhett offered \u201cSmall Town Southern Man.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThough rain and thunderstorms rolled through at various points during the concert, spirits couldn\u2019t be dampened. After lightning and more rain rolled in halfway through the evening, fans showed up ready to party as Jackson took the stage to much fanfare. He led the packed audience through years\u2019 worth of hits, from his breakthrough \u201cHere in the Real World\u201d to rowdy anthems like \u201cGood Time\u201d and classics such as \u201cChattahoochee\u201d that chronicle small-town living and young love.<\/p>\n

\n\tBy the time Jackson ended his set close to midnight, waving to fans from the stage as fireworks lit up the night sky above, concertgoers were roaring their approval and cheering the artist who has given country music lovers so many enduring hits and so many celebratory concerts over the years.<\/p>\n
