Dacia has announced a sizeable price cut for its all-electric Spring<\/a> that \u2013 if you ignore Citroen\u2019s Ami quadricycle \u2013 makes it the cheapest new car you can buy in the UK today!<\/p>\n

Before the cut, Spring prices kicked off at \u00a315,990, but we\u2019re now told the entry level Expression Electric 70 will cost just \u00a311,990 on-the-road. Bargain. And the Extreme Electric 100 that previously cost \u00a316,990 will now be \u00a312,990.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That means the Spring undercuts its little Leapmotor T03<\/a> rival (\u00a314,495) and Dacia\u2019s own petrol-powered Sandero<\/a> (\u00a314,765).<\/p>\n

\u201cDacia has always worked hard to remove barriers to new car ownership, and with Spring\u2019s new pricing, it takes our purpose further than ever,\u201d said UK brand director Lina Ribeiro.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This also comes after the teeny EV was given a big update<\/a> late last year, with a new 24.3kWh LFP battery, much more powerful motors, uprated brakes and retuned suspension. That means the entry-level Expression Electric 70 gets 69bhp, a 0-62mph time of 12.3 seconds and a claimed range of 140 miles. We\u2019re also told it comes with air conditioning, cruise control and rear parking sensors. All for less than \u00a312k.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 100 ups the power output to 99bhp (that\u2019s 100PS in Euro speak, hence the name) and drops the 0-62mph time down to a respectable 9.6 seconds.
