SAN FRANCISCO \u2014 Kristaps Porzi\u0146\u0123is has agreed to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors on a two-year deal, a league source confirmed to The Athletic<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The deal is worth $40 million, with the second year being a player option, said a league source who was not permitted to speak publicly because the deal is not yet official. ESPN first reported the move.<\/p>\n

The Warriors acquired the 30-year-old Porzi\u0146\u0123is from the Atlanta Hawks just before February\u2019s trade deadline in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield. But Porzi\u0146\u0123is\u2019 tenure with the Warriors was marked by absences from the lineup and brief glimpses of solid play alongside the Warriors\u2019 veteran core.<\/p>\n

Porzi\u0146\u0123is averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in his two-and-a-half-month stint with the Warriors. The biggest question for him will be the same one that accompanied his arrival: Will he be available night to night? It\u2019s the question Porzi\u0146\u0123is must continue to answer not only for the rest of the NBA, but for himself.<\/p>\n

Porzi\u0146\u0123is has played in just 122 games during the last three seasons, including just 15 for the Warriors. Porzi\u0146\u0123is, who was previously diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), has repeatedly praised Rick Celebrini, the Warriors\u2019 vice president of player health and performance, and his staff for helping him feel comfortable on the floor after dealing with a variety of injury issues.<\/p>\n

Porzi\u0146\u0123is should pair well alongside Warriors star guard Stephen Curry, but the duo didn\u2019t get much of a chance to play with each other because of their respective injury issues. If Porzi\u0146\u0123is can somehow stay on the floor more in his second run with the Warriors, his ability to shoot from the outside and his defensive length would be invaluable.<\/p>\n
