And an energy like\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0rarely seen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Angine de Poitrine, made up of Klek de Poitrine and Khn de Poitrine, have become one of 2026\u2019s most unlikely breakout acts. The duo perform in elaborate polka-dot costumes and papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9 masks, while their sound combines microtonal guitar, complex drumming, and influences ranging from prog to punk.<\/p>\n<p>The duo\u00a0released their second\u00a0album \u2018Vol. II\u2019\u00a0in April, and\u00a0they have won\u00a0a number of celebrity fans, including Dave Grohl.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Earlier this month,\u00a0reports\u00a0emerged\u00a0that a fake version of\u00a0Angine\u00a0de Poitrine had been performing in Russia, after the band\u2019s art director Sam Murdock said a group had appeared in similar costumes while tagging the real band online.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a fake [version of the] band touring Russia already, with the costumes and everything,\u201d Murdock said. \u201cAnd they keep tagging the band and they don\u2019t even say it\u2019s not a real band. And they just have a one-neck guitar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Angine de Poitrine are set to return to the UK later this year, with festival appearances at\u00a0End Of The Road\u00a0and Manchester Psych Fest in people were taken to hospital after\u00a0Angine\u00a0de Poitrine\u2019s huge free show at Montreal Jazz Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The anonymous duo \u2013 who also hail from Quebec \u2013 played the festival\u2019s TD Stage at Place des Festivals on Saturday night (June 27), drawing one of the biggest crowds in the event\u2019s recent history, with officials saying they had not seen a turnout of that size since Stevie Wonder\u2019s appearance in 2009.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to Urgences-sant\u00e9, paramedics assessed 10 people during the event, with six later being transported to hospital and four others refusing transport after being seen by medical teams.<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin Dansereau-Leclerc, head of operations at Urgences-sant\u00e9, said the calls included falls, traumatic injuries and cases of intoxication. The duo perform in elaborate polka-dot costumes and papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9 masks, while their sound combines microtonal guitar, complex drumming, and influences ranging from prog to punk.<\/p>\n<p>The duo\u00a0released their second\u00a0album \u2018Vol. II\u2019\u00a0in April, and\u00a0they have won\u00a0a number of celebrity fans, including Dave Grohl.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Earlier this month,\u00a0reports\u00a0emerged\u00a0that a fake version of\u00a0Angine\u00a0de Poitrine had been performing in Russia, after the band\u2019s art director Sam Murdock said a group had appeared in similar costumes while tagging the real band online.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a fake [version of the] band touring Russia already, with the costumes and everything,\u201d Murdock said. \u201cAnd they keep tagging the band and they don\u2019t even say it\u2019s not a real band.
