\n\tOrganizers of the Rothbury, Mich. dance music festival Electric Forest were urging attendees of this weekend\u2019s event to reach out to authorities if they have any information about a disturbing incident during the four-day event. <\/p>\n

HQ is heartbroken and knows that our Forest Family is as well,\u201d organizers wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday (June 28) that included a statement from the Michigan State Police about their investigation into the discovery of a deceased newborn in a portable toilet on the fest\u2019s campground.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Michigan State Police continue to investigate the discovery of deceased neonate found Sunday morning in the camping area at the Electric Forest Festival,\u201d read the police statement. \u201cInvestigators are asking for the public\u2019s assistance. If you were in the area and observed anything unusual, or if you have information that you believe may be relevant, we encourage you to come forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to CBS News<\/em>, the infant\u2019s body was discovered by an employee of the restroom vending company during routine maintenance. At press time no additional details were available on the incident and a spokesperson for the festival had not returned Billboard<\/em>\u2018s request for more information.<\/p>\n
