The song, written by Alex Turner, has long been a fan favourite, and became one of the band\u2019s biggest streaming hits after going viral on TikTok in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>at the time, Turner reflected on the song finding a new audience online. \u201cThe song\u2019s become something else now,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0gone somewhere else.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0amazing when something comes back in that\u00a0way, or\u00a0reaches people who\u00a0weren\u2019t\u00a0there the first time around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The song has also been a regular part of Arctic Monkeys\u2019 live sets for years, often appearing as a dramatic set closer. Miles Kane, who played guitar on the original recording, joined the band for a version of \u2018505\u2019 during their run of London Emirates Stadium shows in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Arctic\u00a0Monkeys\u00a0last\u00a0released an album with 2022\u2019s \u2018The Car\u2019.\u00a0In a five-star review, <i>NME <\/i>called it \u201ca summary of the band\u2019s story so far\u201d, adding: \u201cThe car keeps speeding forward, but they\u2019ve not forgotten what they\u2019re leaving behind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They did, however, return earlier this year The song, written by Alex Turner, has long been a fan favourite, and became one of the band\u2019s biggest streaming hits after going viral on TikTok in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>at the time, Turner reflected on the song finding a new audience online. \u201cThe song\u2019s become something else now,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0gone somewhere else.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0amazing when something comes back in that\u00a0way, or\u00a0reaches people who\u00a0weren\u2019t\u00a0there the first time around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The song has also been a regular part of Arctic Monkeys\u2019 live sets for years, often appearing as a dramatic set closer.
