Jagger produced the film alongside Brian Grazer,\u00a0Taylor\u00a0and Victoria Pearman, while Nick Eversman played Jagger in a small role.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<i>NME<\/i>\u2019s four-star review of\u00a0<i>A Complete Unknown<\/i>, Alex Flood wrote:\u00a0\u201cIf\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0a Bob newbie,\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0leave the cinema ready to dive into his back catalogue.\u00a0If\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0already a fan, the next few weeks will be spent making playlists of lesser-known B-sides or reading the lore around a scene you\u00a0weren\u2019t\u00a0familiar with. And\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0why it was\u00a0a good idea\u00a0to make this film \u2013 a mad idea, but a good one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There have been\u00a0rumours\u00a0about\u00a0a Rolling Stones film over the years, and in 2012, Richard Branson\u2019s Virgin\u00a0acquired the rights to Robert Greenfield\u2019s book\u00a0<i>Exile\u00a0On\u00a0Main Street: A Season\u00a0In\u00a0Hell\u00a0With\u00a0The\u00a0Rolling Stones<\/i>, with plans to turn the story of\u00a0the chaotic\u00a01971 sessions in the South of France into a feature film.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span><\/div>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Rolling Stones - Jealous Lover (Official Video)\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0IOL-vfkpJM?feature=oembed&amp;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>The project resurfaced in 2016, when\u00a0<i>Downton Abbey<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<i>Daredevil<\/i>\u00a0director Andy Goddard was attached to direct, with reports at the time saying actors were being sought to play late-\u201920s versions of Jagger and\u00a0Keith Richards. The film never came to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>Harry Styles\u00a0was also widely\u00a0rumoured\u00a0to be playing\u00a0Jagger\u00a0at one point,\u00a0and\u00a0Zack Snyder told\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>in 2023\u00a0that Jagger would be his dream biopic subject. The director said he had long been fascinated by the challenge of capturing Jagger on screen,\u00a0adding: \u201cHis voice is iconic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jagger has his own long history in film, having starred in Nicolas Roeg\u2019s\u00a0<i>Performance<\/i>\u00a0in 1970,\u00a0as well as\u00a0<i>Ned Kelly<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Freejack\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>The Burnt Orange Heresy<\/i>. He also co-created and executive-produced HBO\u2019s 1970s music-industry drama\u00a0<i>Vinyl<\/i>\u00a0with\u00a0Martin Scorsese.<\/p>\n<p>Jagger\u2019s comments come ahead of the release of The Rolling Stones\u2019 new album \u2018Foreign Tongues\u2019,\u00a0which is due out on July 10.\u00a0The\u00a0band\u00a0have also announced an official podcast companion to the The film never came to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>Harry Styles\u00a0was also widely\u00a0rumoured\u00a0to be playing\u00a0Jagger\u00a0at one point,\u00a0and\u00a0Zack Snyder told\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>in 2023\u00a0that Jagger would be his dream biopic subject. The director said he had long been fascinated by the challenge of capturing Jagger on screen,\u00a0adding: \u201cHis voice is iconic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jagger has his own long history in film, having starred in Nicolas Roeg\u2019s\u00a0<i>Performance<\/i>\u00a0in 1970,\u00a0as well as\u00a0<i>Ned Kelly<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Freejack\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>The Burnt Orange Heresy<\/i>.
