Aperta meaning \u2018open\u2019, of course.<\/p>\n<p>But has taking a can opener to the sloping, curvaceous roof of the Veloce12 \u2013 and the 550 Maranello underneath it \u2013 changed the vibe somewhat? And is anyone else seeing an old Corvette in the flanks? Beauty is subjective of course, so no doubt you will have Opinions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<p>In any case, that roof comprises two removable panels that can be stored \u201cwithin a bespoke compartment\u201d inside the car, while an aluminium arch frames the rear windscreen, which itself displays the \u201cseamlessly integrated on board storage\u201d. Storage custom-made to fit that space.<\/p>\n<p>Touring Superleggera quotes the Maserati 3500 GT as the inspiration behind the Aperta\u2019s colourway \u2013 \u2018Alba White\u2019 for the exterior, and dual-tone white and burgundy for the cabin \u2013 though it\u2019s all Ferrari underneath.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<p>Which means the same open-gate six-speed manual channeling Maranello\u2019s 5.5-litre V12 and its 500(ish) horsepower to the rear wheels. That\u2019s a bit more than what Ferrari gave it as standard, and allows the Aperta to travel from 0-62mph in 4.4s (the same as the Coupe) and onto a top speed of 180mph.<\/p>\n<p>Should sound fruity, thanks in part to the whole \u20185.5-litre modified Ferrari V12 sitting under the nose\u2019 thing, and also in part to the new Supersprint exhaust said to deliver \u201ca visceral, unfiltered crescendo\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<p>Elsewhere it\u2019s as per its Coupe sibling: carbon fibre body, fat Brembos all round, TracTive suspension with adaptive dampers, stiffer chassis, much leather, dash of modernity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Veloce12 Aperta offers the duality that bridges the muscular presence of the Veloce12 Coupe and the unrestrained freedom of the Veloce12 Barchetta,\u201d said TS boss Markus Tellenbach.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally it\u2019s only being built in limited numbers, though we don\u2019t know whether this Aperta forms part of the original car\u2019s 30-strong run, or its own.
