The Mediappiness Invitational brought together the great and the good of the French scene and beyond for a weekend of pure joy.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Riding the glacier under the June sunshine, with a massive crew of homies before heading down for skating, beers and reggae\u2026does it get better? Anyone who was in Les Deux Alpes for a weekend of cultural celebration would undoubtedly argue that it doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

The Mediappiness crew gathered around 20 invited riders and welcomed nearly a hundred hungry amateurs to the brilliant glacier snowpark in L2A where\u2014fresh off the back of shaping Kimbo Sessions<\/a>\u2014Julian Caillet, Hugo Monmont, Andreas Herranz and Mateo Socquet had built a slush skiing paradise.<\/p>\n

After an insane session in the snowpark, with many of the french pro team throwing down on the challenge rail, everyone skied down off the glacier to a secret spot where Pierre-Emile Rochat and friends had shaped a hip. The session continued with cheering for every trick and every rider gaining more hype than the last from the increasingly stoked crowd. The incredible vibes continued through the afternoon where eventually everyone reconvened at the skate park where the Mediappiness Village hosted prize-giving and live music performances from local vinyl DJs and Guinean reggae artist Lyricson.<\/p>\n

As the crowd skanked into the night to Lyricson\u2019s basslines, La Clusaz legend and freeski coach Manu Pernet jumped on stage, took the mic and announced that this was the greatest celebration of freeski culture since the days of the Candide Invitational\u2014a serious endorsement from an suitably intoxicated old-head.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
