Winter is officially getting underway at Mt. Baw Baw Alpine Resort<\/a> in Australia\u2019s state of Victoria.<\/strong> The small, family-friendly resort announced today that it will open for skiing and snowboarding tomorrow, June 27, thanks to a recent stretch of cold temperatures and sustained snowmaking operations.<\/p>\n

The resort confirmed via social media that a combination of natural conditions and its snowmaking infrastructure has allowed it to prepare limited terrain for early-season skiing. <\/strong>\u201cThanks to some snow making temps and our snow making factories, Mt. Baw Baw will be open for skiing on limited terrain tomorrow,\u201d the resort wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow\u2019s opening will focus on beginner and early-season access, with skiing and snowboarding available between Hut and Tower Two.\u00a0<\/strong>The resort confirmed that lessons will also be running on the available terrain, giving beginners an early chance to get on snow as the Victorian season begins to ramp up.<\/p>\n

While conditions remain early-season, snowmaking has played a key role in enabling operations, with crews taking advantage of every cold window to build coverage across key beginner zones.<\/strong><\/p>\n
