SAN FRANCISCO \u2014 Golden State Warriors wing Jimmy Butler said he\u2019s making \u201cincredible progress\u201d in his recovery from a torn ACL in his right knee and is about a month and a half from running again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in the thick of it,\u201d Butler said during an appearance to announce the Warriors\u2019 new partnership with AI company Iren on Thursday. \u201c\u2026 This rehab\u2019s tough. \u2026 You\u2019re doing so much work, knowing you\u2019ve still got so much work to do to get back to where you want to be. It\u2019s a process, it\u2019s a grind. It\u2019s nothing new, but at the same time, it\u2019s very new. But I look forward to getting back to the court.\u201d<\/p>\n

Exactly when that will be next year remains to be seen. Butler initially suffered the season-ending injury on Jan. 19 and has been rehabbing in hopes of returning at some point during the 2026-27 season. He was in good spirits as he sat on the same stage as Warriors owner Joe Lacob to discuss the new sponsorship.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been making some incredible progress,\u201d Butler said. \u201cI\u2019m actually very happy. It\u2019s just I want it to happen quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Butler said one of the most difficult parts of the process for him has been the mental aspect of his recovery, but the 36-year-old remains confident that he will be able to return at a high level whenever he steps back on the floor.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like life is different right now,\u201d Butler said of the rehab process. \u201cThere are things that I used to be able to do that I can\u2019t do right now. I actually can dunk a basketball if I jump off my left leg \u2014 I just can\u2019t land on my right. I haven\u2019t tried it, but I\u2019m pretty sure I can still dunk a basketball.\u201d<\/p>\n

As speculation lingers that the final year of Butler\u2019s contract, worth almost $57 million, could be packaged in a deal to acquire a different star to pair with Steph Curry, Butler continues to carry himself as a man who wants to play out the rest of his career in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n

The messaging has been consistent from both Butler and the Warriors\u2019 front office that Butler is part of the team\u2019s future. Sitting next to Butler on Thursday, Lacob reiterated that he is confident both Butler and the team will come back strong next season. And Butler, who will be entering his 16th NBA season this fall, expressed optimism that the Warriors have enough talent to be a difficult out.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we\u2019re healthy, we\u2019re tough,\u201d Butler said. \u201cWe\u2019ve just got to be healthy. \u2026 As long as we\u2019ve got Steph, we always have a chance.\u201d<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t realize it until you\u2019ve been in other places, and I\u2019m not talking down on anybody that are like quite lesser than. You\u2019re talking about the way that you all run everything, the people that you have around.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, the guys that get to rep the uniform, they just do everything the right way, the winning way. It definitely shows in everything that we do here. I\u2019m grateful to be a part of it now. When I say I don\u2019t want to be anywhere else, this is it.\u201d<\/p>\n

In another sign that Butler expects to be with the Warriors for the foreseeable future, he said he was hoping to have another trip planned for his teammates to visit him at his San Diego home before training camp.<\/p>\n
