Winter has officially arrived in New Zealand\u2019s Southern Alps, with Cardrona Alpine Resort<\/a> announcing it will open for the 2026 season tomorrow, June 26, 2026, following fresh snowfall and favorable snowmaking conditions.\u00a0<\/strong>The resort revealed the exciting news on social media, telling guests: \u201cWe\u2019ve got news\u2026 we\u2019re opening TOMORROW!\u201d<\/p>\n

Overnight, the mountain received<\/a> 4 centimeters (2 inches) of fresh snow, bringing its 24-hour snowfall total to 10 centimeters (4 inches).<\/strong> Temperatures dropped to -6\u00b0C (21\u00b0F), allowing snowmakers to take full advantage of the cold conditions. \u201cThe guns are cranking,\u201d Cardrona reported in its latest snow conditions update.<\/p>\n
