More!\u2019: \u201cIt\u2019s definitely got something to say for itself\u201d<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The singer played a 30-minute set on the King Tut\u2019s Stage at Glasgow Green on Friday (June 19), where she told fans she was using the slot to introduce \u201ca\u00a0brand new\u00a0fucking era\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Some fans booed after Hill told them: \u201cI\u2019m going to play you nothing but brand new music. I said on stage how difficult it is to transition into a new single and\u00a0new music\u00a0and new albums, and all this conversation online is exactly what I meant,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not a jukebox, I\u2019m an artist, and the tickets for TRNSMT weren\u2019t sold on my name being a part of the line-up. And I wanted to do something new and artistically-driven. I don\u2019t really get that opportunity to do that in my career often at all. But trust me, when my name is on the poster, I\u2019ll always sing the tunes that people know and love. I feel very grateful to have those records in my catalogue after 14 years of making them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut for me to be able to have a long career, I need to have new music,\u201d she added, before thanking the fans who were at the show and urging people not to believe everything they read online.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hill is preparing to release her third album \u2018Rebecca\u2019 on September 25 (pre-order here). Speaking to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>recently, she described the record as a more personal and \u201cpunk\u201d new chapter, while saying its fiery single \u2018More! More! More!\u2019\u00a0has \u201cdefinitely got something to say for itself\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She also told\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>that part of the record was inspired by the frustration of seeing working class people being \u201ctrodden on\u201d,\u00a0adding: \u201cPeople are pushing themselves to the limit in fear that they aren\u2019t going to be able to feed their family, keep the lights on or support themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another new song from the album, \u2018Daddy\u2019s Range Rover\u2019,\u00a0was written in response to Jack Whitehall calling her \u201cWetherspoons Whitney\u201d while hosting the BRIT Awards. Hill told\u00a0<i>NME<\/i>: \u201cHow fucking dare [Whitehall]\u00a0punch down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whitehall later said he was \u201cabsolutely\u00a0honoured\u201d to have inspired a diss track, adding: \u201cI\u2019m surprised it\u2019s taken this long.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This weekend, Hill will be at the top of the bill for the new\u00a0Everywhere At Once festival, which has been made by Music Venue Trust and The National Lottery, and will see artists perform at grassroots venues across the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Hill on the line-up is\u00a0The Lathums\u00a0and\u00a0Tinie Tempah, and the event is being spearheaded by Music Venue Trust,\u00a0Save Our Scene\u00a0and\u00a0Association of Independent Promoters. More!\u2019: \u201cIt\u2019s definitely got something to say for itself\u201d<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The singer played a 30-minute set on the King Tut\u2019s Stage at Glasgow Green on Friday (June 19), where she told fans she was using the slot to introduce \u201ca\u00a0brand new\u00a0fucking era\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Some fans booed after Hill told them: \u201cI\u2019m going to play you nothing but brand new music. I said on stage how difficult it is to transition into a new single and\u00a0new music\u00a0and new albums, and all this conversation online is exactly what I meant,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not a jukebox, I\u2019m an artist, and the tickets for TRNSMT weren\u2019t sold on my name being a part of the line-up. And I wanted to do something new and artistically-driven. I don\u2019t really get that opportunity to do that in my career often at all. But trust me, when my name is on the poster, I\u2019ll always sing the tunes that people know and love. I feel very grateful to have those records in my catalogue after 14 years of making them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut for me to be able to have a long career, I need to have new music,\u201d she added, before thanking the fans who were at the show and urging people not to believe everything they read online.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hill is preparing to release her third album \u2018Rebecca\u2019 on September 25 (pre-order here). Speaking to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>recently, she described the record as a more personal and \u201cpunk\u201d new chapter, while saying its fiery single \u2018More! More! More!\u2019\u00a0has \u201cdefinitely got something to say for itself\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She also told\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>that part of the record was inspired by the frustration of seeing working class people being \u201ctrodden on\u201d,\u00a0adding: \u201cPeople are pushing themselves to the limit in fear that they aren\u2019t going to be able to feed their family, keep the lights on or support themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another new song from the album, \u2018Daddy\u2019s Range Rover\u2019,\u00a0was written in response to Jack Whitehall calling her \u201cWetherspoons Whitney\u201d while hosting the BRIT Awards. Hill told\u00a0<i>NME<\/i>: \u201cHow fucking dare [Whitehall]\u00a0punch down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whitehall later said he was \u201cabsolutely\u00a0honoured\u201d to have inspired a diss track, adding: \u201cI\u2019m surprised it\u2019s taken this long.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This weekend, Hill will be at the top of the bill for the new\u00a0Everywhere At Once festival, which has been made by Music Venue Trust and The National Lottery, and will see artists perform at grassroots venues across the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Hill on the line-up is\u00a0The Lathums\u00a0and\u00a0Tinie Tempah, and the event is being spearheaded by Music Venue Trust,\u00a0Save Our Scene\u00a0and\u00a0Association of Independent Promoters.
