The PS5&#8217;s SSD offers &#8220;near-instant load times&#8221; as well, apparently.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"injection_placeholder\" data-position=\"1\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>But there&#8217;s no actual declaration that GTA 6 runs better on PS5 from a performance point of view. Instead, this seems to be a gambit to convince waves of gamers that the PS5 is the best choice for GTA 6 release &#8211; a game that is sure to push a staggering number of people towards the medium. Sony is clearly hoping GTA 6 will be a hardware seller as well as a software seller.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s interesting there&#8217;s no mention of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/topics\/ps5-pro\">PS5 Pro<\/a>. The only reference made to it is in <a href=\"https:\/\/store.playstation.com\/en-gb\/concept\/10000730\">the PlayStation Store listing for GTA 6<\/a>, which includes the label &#8220;PS5 Pro Enhanced&#8221;, but doesn&#8217;t stipulate how it&#8217;s enhanced. Otherwise, all the technical pros mentioned are present on the base PS5, and all the GTA 6 gameplay we&#8217;ve seen so far has been captured on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=VQRLujxTm3c&amp;t=1s\">base PS5<\/a>, too. It&#8217;s a strange omission; we can only assume GTA 6 will be enhanced on PS5 Pro but we&#8217;ve contacted Sony for clarification.<\/p>\n<p>So, will the PS5 be the most prominent platform for GTA 6? Sony is in a fortunate position in terms of the console market. The Xbox is struggling immensely at the moment, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/xbox-suffers-worst-year-on-record-for-console-sales-in-the-uk\">having suffered from poor hardware sales<\/a> and finding itself in the midst of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/xbox-layoffs-business-reset\">reported cuts across many of its studios<\/a>. There&#8217;s currently no sign of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/platforms\/switch-2\">Nintendo Switch 2<\/a> either, despite it selling strongly and Take-Two&#8217;s CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/gta-6-on-switch-2-publisher-pledges-support-says-era-when-nintendo-was-just-for-kids-is-over\">saying they want to support the platform<\/a> in the future.<\/p>\n<p>That leaves the PC! A dominant platform for gaming, and there&#8217;s no doubt that Grand Theft Auto 6 will prove popular there, if and when it&#8217;s made available. For Sony, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/sony-playstation-pc-ai-annual-report\">who is pulling away from PC, judging by its annual business report<\/a>, it&#8217;s clear it&#8217;s becoming less focused on that platform.
