SAN FRANCISCO \u2014 Golden State Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy said talks about bringing back veteran stalwart Draymond Green and Kristaps Porzingis are ongoing, but sounded optimistic about how the conversations are going heading into free agency next month.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had conversations with kind of all of our free agents,\u201d Dunleavy said during a Wednesday news conference. \u201cTheir representatives. I think we\u2019re in a good place with all of them \u2026 as far as Draymond and KP, Draymond has the player option, but we\u2019re in communication with his group. Then same thing with KP. Both guys, I think, we value, we want here, and we see them as a kind of (a) piece of the puzzle next season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Green, 36, has to decide whether or not to pick up a player option worth almost $28 million for next season. He has said repeatedly throughout the year that he is hoping to return to the Warriors next year, but Dunleavy has been clear that the ball remains in Green\u2019s court. If Green were to decline the option and work out an extension at a lower number, the feeling throughout the league is that he will have a better chance to stay with the Warriors \u2014 especially if that lower salary next season helps the Warriors stay out of the luxury tax.<\/p>\n
