Nevados de Chill\u00e1n (Chile), Cerro Castor (Argentina), Cerro Chapelco (Argentina)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Sharing the number five spot are Chile\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nevadosdechillan.com\/\">Nevados de Chill\u00e1n<\/a> and Argentina\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cerrocastor.com\/en\/home.html\">Cerro Castor<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cerrochapelco.com.ar\/\">Chapelco<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>While all three resorts offer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skiresort.info\/ski-resorts\/south-america\/sorted\/slope-length\/\">21.75 miles<\/a> (35 kilometers) of total slope length, their unique locations bring distinct mountain experiences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Located in the \u00d1uble Region of Chile, Nevados de Chill\u00e1n offers incredible alpine views and an abundance of powder.\u00a0<\/strong>The resort is a popular destination for powder hounds, averaging <a href=\"https:\/\/snowbrains.com\/the-biggest-snow-events-ever-recorded-in-the-andes-mountains-and-the-best-places-to-ski\/\">272 inches<\/a> (691 centimeters) of snow each year. Nevados de Chill\u00e1n is also home to one of the longest runs in the world, the eight-mile (13-kilometer) Las Tres Mar\u00edas, as well as South America\u2019s first snowpark. Nevados de Chill\u00e1n has 16 lifts and 2,854 feet (870 meters) of vertical drop.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cerro Castor is the world\u2019s southernmost ski resort.\u00a0<\/strong>Situated near Ushuaia (meaning \u201cThe End of the World), Cerro Castor offers 2,503 feet (763 meters) of vertical drop and a season that stretches from June to October, making it one of the longest seasons in Argentina.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cerro Chapelco is known for its proximity to San Mart\u00edn de los Andes, a popular Patagonian town known for its food, craft beer, and views of Lake L\u00e1car and the nearby volcano of Lan\u00edn. <\/strong>Beginner and intermediate terrain compose over half of the resort\u2019s trails, making it a popular destination for beginners looking to progress. El Colorado is better suited to advanced and expert skiers, with 30% of its runs rated difficult. Farellones is the more beginner-friendly resort, with gentle beginner slopes, surface lifts, and a small 623-foot (190-meter) vertical drop.
