In 2023 Las Vegas Aces coach Becky Hammon publicly doubted Jalen Brunson could be a \u201c1A guy\u201d because she felt his 6-foot-2-inch frame was too small. In May, as the Knicks started closing on a Finals opportunity she told reporters<\/a> she was \u201cup for being proven wrong.\u201d Former All-NBA guard Isaiah Thomas, who made two All-Star teams and led the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals in 2017 after averaging 28.9 points per game at just 5 feet 9, took to X at the time to quetion the doubt<\/a> Hammon expressed about small guards.<\/p>\n
