Now, we&#8217;re hearing the latter has departed the project.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/06\/jason-momoa-helldivers-exits-1236950906\/\">Deadline shared the exclusive<\/a>, adding &#8220;the reason for his departure is unknown&#8221;. Sony is now looking for a new main star who can help carry the weight of the massive video game IP. Funnily enough, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/after-announcing-a-helldivers-movie-sony-is-now-officially-rebooting-starship-troopers\">Sony is also said to be developing a new adaptation of Robert A. Heinlein&#8217;s novel<\/a>, so you have to wonder how on (Super) Earth they&#8217;ll differentiate the flicks &#8211; if they both move forward &#8211; beyond giving them different tones (Heinlein&#8217;s original novel was, uh, not exactly satirical).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"injection_placeholder\" data-position=\"1\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Arrowhead Studios continues to expand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/games\/helldivers-2\">Helldivers 2<\/a> with new content drops and loaded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/helldivers-2-the-exo-experts-warbond-unveiled\">warbonds<\/a> that deliver more creatively lethal ways to deal with killer bugs, robots, and other outer space menaces.
