Before the game was released, many dubbed it &#8216;Pok\u00e9mon with guns&#8217; due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/palworld-hides-an-unreleased-familiar-looking-pal-creature-in-its-code-fan-says\">familiar designs of some Palworld creatures<\/a> and some in-game mechanics. Nintendo announced it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/nintendo-sues-palworld-developer-for-infringement-of-multiple-patents\">suing Pocketpair for infringement of &#8220;multiple&#8221; patents<\/a> back in September 2024, and it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/nintendo-and-the-pokemon-company-seek-injunction-against-palworld-plus-fine-and-damages-developer-says\">later confirmed<\/a> that the lawsuit is targeting three patents in particular.
