Presented by Under Armour, Country Live\u2019s Friday lineup also featured Kaitlin Butts, Something Out West, Alana Springsteen, Stella Lefty, Braxton Keith, Ashley Cooke, Priscilla Block, and Alexandra Kay\u2014as well as a surprise guest or two. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tEach artist\u2019s set blended their own music as well as a range of unexpected cover songs. Throughout the day and night, the crowd sang along heartily, and in keeping with the building\u2019s long history of line dancing, some in the crowd did start line dancing periodically. Meanwhile, hosts Lauryn Snapp and Carissa Culiner kept the crowd\u2019s energy high between sets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Thursday night lineup <span>featured\u00a0The Red Clay Strays\u00a0playing a headlining set, while the rest of the lineup included The Band Perry, Chase Rice, C<\/span>arly Pearce, Ty Myers, Corey Kent, Lanie Gardner, Drew Baldridge, Hunter Hayes, and The Grimm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe evening also included a surprise appearance by influencer Chantel West Coast, who may need to change her name to Chantel Nashville soon. After performing her tune, \u201cTennessee,\u201d she admitted she was \u201cslightly sick of L.A\u2026. I feel like I\u2019ve found my voice in country music\u2026 Tennessee has been calling me.\u201d \u00a0Based on the reception she received, she\u2019d be welcome.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBelow is a roundup of the evening, which also included an afterparty featuring Country Nights.<\/p>\n<div id=\"pmc-gallery-vertical\">\n<div class=\"c-gallery-vertical-loader u-gallery-app-shell-loader\">\n<ul class=\"pmc-fallback-list-items lrv-a-unstyle-list lrv-u-margin-t-2\">\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<article class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item\">\n<h2>Kaitlin Butts<\/h2>\n<div class=\"pmc-not-a-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tKaitlin Butts started off Friday\u2019s edition of <em>Billboard <\/em>Country Live with plenty of spitfire, fiddle and verve, including \u201cHunt You Down,\u201d which she called a \u201clove song but with a thinly veiled threat.\u201d She also offered an unapologetic grit and perspective, saying, \u201cIf they don\u2019t love you exactly how you are you shouldn\u2019t have to be around those people, family or not,\u201d before launching into \u201cBlood.\u201d From there Butts, who makes a cameo in Ella Langley\u2019s video for \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d turned in a scathing version of the classic \u201cIn The Pines,\u201d eliciting a particularly rowdy appreciation from the crowd. She closed out her set with \u201cNever Really Mine\u201d followed by her viral hit \u201cYou Ain\u2019t Gotta Die (To Be Dead to Me).\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<article class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item\">\n<h2>Something Out West<\/h2>\n<div class=\"pmc-not-a-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDuo Something Out West, formed by Chet Hanks and Drew Arthur, played their first full-band show in Nashville when they stepped onstage at Category 10 Friday afternoon. They blended smooth rock and country sounds on songs like \u201cYou Better Run\u201d and \u201cLeaving Hollywood.\u201d They also mixed things up by performing a few cover songs, including Jamey Johnson\u2019s \u201cIn Color\u201d mixed with Kid Rock\u2019s \u201cOnly God Knows Why.\u201d Hanks\u2019 grizzled vocal particularly stood out on the catchy \u201cPour One Out.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<article class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item\">\n<h2>Alana Springsteen<\/h2>\n<div class=\"pmc-not-a-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAlana Springsteen just released a new project,\u00a0<em>I Hope This Helps<\/em>, which delves into cathartic songs and musings on acceptance, love, regrets and dreams. Appropriately, her set started with a recording of her voice naming hopes and wishes for listeners for bravery, acceptance and friendship. Her rock-threaded songs juxtaposed an edgy musical tapestry with lyrics that exposed raw, vulnerable emotion. \u201cThis one goes out to all your shitty exes,\u201d she said before tearing into \u201cYou Don\u2019t Deserve a Country Song.\u201d She also offered \u201cGhost in My Guitar\u201d and her Gold-certified \u201cGoodbye Looks Good On You.\u201d She then got the crowd singing along to a slowed down version of Natalie Imbruglia\u2019s \u201cTorn.\u201d She dedicated her own song, \u201cBlack Sheep\u201d from her new album, to \u201call the ones who color outside the lines.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<article class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item\">\n<h2>Stella Lefty<\/h2>\n<div class=\"pmc-not-a-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tStella Lefty has soared on the <em>Billboard<\/em>\u2019s pop and country charts and swiftly earned a strong following of fans thanks to her breakthrough hit \u201cBoston\u201d and her slate of other pop-country tracks. She launched her set with the bubbly \u201cThinkin Bout You.\u201d Her exuberant, youthful energy abounded during her set, as she set about dancing, swaying and twirling to the upbeat, sweet songs including \u201cGood at Leaving,\u201d You Were Mine\u201d and \u201cI Know I Know.\u201d One of the highlights was when she brought out duo Dan + Shay to sing their hit \u201cTequila.\u201d Together, the three brought a natural synergy, with Lefty\u2019s warm vocal pairing nicely with the Shay Mooney and Dan Smyers\u2019 tight harmonies. Then she returned to center stage to perform \u201cSomething To Lose\u201d (sans boyfriend Vincent Mason) and finished her set with her massive crossover hit, \u201cBoston.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<article class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item\">\n<h2>Braxton Keith<\/h2>\n<div class=\"pmc-not-a-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBraxton Keith turned Category 10 into a honkytonk with his engaging twangy country tunes. The Texan opened with the finger-snapping \u201cReal Damn Deal,\u201d which if there had been room, the crowd would have broken out into line dancing. Keith, who is part of a new traditionalist movement, showed he\u2019s definitely the real deal with the mid-tempo twirler, \u201cGonna Come Back as a Country Song.\u201d He slowed the tempo down with the heartbreak song, \u201cChase You Down,\u201d following up with the endearing \u201cA Little Bit Closer,\u201d which takes a chance on love on the dance floor. He followed the theme of love\u2019s foibles with \u201cCozy,\u201d showing off his strong vocals. Keith finished with the hilarious, jangly \u201cI Own This Bar\u201d and the western swing charmer \u201cI Ain\u2019t Tryin.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<article class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item\">\n<h2>Ashley Cooke<\/h2>\n<div class=\"pmc-not-a-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAshley Cooke, whose self-titled album comes out Aug. 14, delivered an enjoyable, confident set that showed off the range of her talent. She opened with the fun, flirty \u201cExcuses,\u201d followed by the defiant \u201cThe Hell You Are.\u201d The course of true love seldom runs smoothly, Cooke showed, delving into her new cheating song, \u201cXs.\u201d She then stripped it down with the beautiful, emotional \u201cIt\u2019s Been a Year\u201d from 2022. She appropriately shifted to an ode to the gorgeous June evening with an upbeat cover of Rascal Flatts\u2019 \u201cSummer Nights,\u201d which she recorded with the trio in 2025. She followed \u201cHigh School Sweetheart\u201d with the languid \u201cBaby Blues,\u201d and was joined by surprise guest comedian Matt Rife, who she sweetly sang the last verse to. Cooke closed with \u201cYour Place,\u201d which she took to No. 2 on Billboard\u2019s Country Airplay chart in 2024, leading the crowd in a singalong.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<article class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item\">\n<h2>Priscilla Block<\/h2>\n<div class=\"pmc-not-a-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe Raleigh native opened, appropriately enough, with \u201cMy Bar,\u201d advising anyone seeing their ex to remember that the bar belonged them. She then dipped into her most recent album, October\u2019s <em>Things You Didn\u2019t See<\/em>, with \u201cCecilia,\u201d which interpolates Simon &amp; Garfunkel\u2019s 1970 hit of the same name. She followed with a medley of three pop songs, Billie Eilish\u2019s \u201cBirds of a Feather,\u201d Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d and Gracie Abrams\u2019 \u201cThat\u2019s So True.\u201d Block then debuted a song she\u2019s never played live, Goo Goo Dolls\u2019 \u201cIris,\u201d which is having a resurgence from the \u201890s viral trend. Block, who moved to Nashville when she was 17 \u201cwith 50 bucks to my name,\u201d closed with the fun, catchy \u201cFake Names\u201d and her breakthrough hit, 2020\u2019s \u201cJust About Over You.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<article class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item\">\n<h2>Alexandra Kay<\/h2>\n<div class=\"pmc-not-a-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDressed from head to toe in sparkly denim, Alexandra Kay led her three-piece band through a tight set with rockers \u201cFeminine Energy\u201d and \u201cBackroad Therapy,\u201d before slowing it down for the heartbreaking divorce drama, 2023\u2019s \u201cPainted Him Perfect,\u201d which deserved to find a bigger audience given its relatable subject matter. She lightened the mood with her own lighthearted \u201cTomorrow Problems,\u201d before segueing into Chappell Roan\u2019s \u201cPink Pony Club,\u201d turning Category 10 into a big singalong. Kay talked about touring with Jelly Roll and Tim McGraw, coming through a tough divorce to only find herself more in love than ever with her guitarist, Rocko Beall, because singing the delicate \u201cEverleave.\u201d Kay ended her strong set with her rising Country Airplay hit, the driving \u201cStraight For the Heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<article class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item\">\n<h2>Tucker Wetmore<\/h2>\n<div class=\"pmc-not-a-paywall\">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tTucker Wetmore closed out a festive day with a quick-paced, high energy set that showed off his voice, his chest, his dance moves and his musical chops. Opening with \u201cProving Me Right,\u201d Wetmore had the crowd eating out of his hand from the start, singing along to every word, even to album cuts like boisterous country rocker \u201cBreak First.\u201d Wetmore roamed every corner of the stage during the upbeat numbers, while staying in place for darker, slower songs, like \u201cWine Into Whiskey, his 2024 breakthrough hit about the damage he wrought in a relationship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWetmore sat down only to play the keyboards for his faithful version (and concert staple) of The Georgia Satellites\u2019 \u201cKeep Your Hands To Yourself,\u201d into Hank Williams Jr.\u2019s \u201cAll My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight\u201d and Train\u2019s \u201cDrops of Jupiter,\u201d which got the crowd waving their arms in unison.
