This is the debut title from That&#8217;s No Moon, an independent studio featuring key talent behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/games\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare\">2019 Modern Warfare reboot<\/a>&#8216;s campaign, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/companies\/naughty-dog\">Naughty Dog<\/a> before that.<\/p>\n<p>Crossfire is a third-person &#8220;tactical action-adventure&#8221; that blends stealth with grounded action. It&#8217;s a single-player, narrative-driven experience that follows two rival operators forced to work together. We got an early look at the upcoming game as part of the show, and the developer was particularly excited about its Adaptive Cover mechanic.<\/p>\n<p>This cover system changes the player&#8217;s stance in response to the terrain, as well as the enemies around you. Doumit is chiefly known for playing Victoria &#8220;Head-Popper&#8221; Neuman on The Boys, but she&#8217;s also a former collaborator of Minkoff&#8217;s, and Kurosaki&#8217;s, having played Farah Karim in all three modern Modern Warfare games. This is indeed not the first time Korean publisher Smilegate has worked with an outside studio to create a cinematic single-player campaign for its incredibly popular free-to-play shooter series, Crossfire. Alan Wake, and Control developer, Remedy Entertainment, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/crossfirexs-campaign-looks-like-smart-dumb-fps-action-done-in-classic-remedy-style\">developed the campaign for CrossfireX<\/a>, which was released on Xbox Series X\/S in February 2022 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/game\/crossfirex\/\">near universal censure<\/a>. Almost exactly a year later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/xbox-shooter-crossfirex-shutting-down-in-may\">Smilegate shut it all down<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new Crossfire has a bit of an unusual publishing structure.
