But, unlike traditional Snow League events, the New Zealand World Challenger will feature a unique format.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Related: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/snowbrains.com\/snow-league-2025-26-prize-money\/\">The Snow League Unveils its 2025-26 Highest Prize Money Winners<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The World Challenge will see 16 invited athletes divided into four regional teams, with individual scores counted towards their team score. <\/strong>Each of the four regional teams will be represented by one male and one female snowboarder, alongside one male and one female freeskier. The four regional teams will represent North America, Europe, and Asia\/Pacific, with the fourth team, called the Challengers, representing emerging talent from multiple regions.\u00a0It will be a halfpipe-only event, and the results will not affect the league\u2019s individual regular season standings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>While Cardrona Alpine Resort has hosted various freestyle competitions such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fis-ski.com\/\">International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS)<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fis-ski.com\/freeski-park-and-pipe\">World Cups<\/a>, the World Challenger will be its first time hosting a Snow League event.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI am excited that New Zealand will host the inaugural Snow League World Challenge at Cardrona.<\/strong> What a treat for Kiwis to see the world\u2019s top snow sport athletes in action,\u201d New Zealand\u2019s Tourism and Hospitality Minister Louise Upston said in the <a href=\"https:\/\/thesnowleague.com\/news\/season-two-schedule-announcement\/\">announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The event will be supported by the New Zealand Government\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mbie.govt.nz\/immigration-and-tourism\/tourism\/tourism-funding\/events-attraction-package\">Events Attraction Package<\/a>, which helps draw audiences for events like sports, music festivals and concerts, and other cultural events.\u00a0<\/strong>The league will receive financial backing from the Events Attraction Package.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Following the New Zealand event, the Snow League will return to its traditional format for its second event at Aspen Snowmass in Colorado.\u00a0<\/strong>The league will also make a stop in Park City, Utah, on January 21-23, 2027. It will be the Snow League\u2019s first time hosting an event in Utah.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWe\u2019re proud to add Park City Mountain to the calendar, bringing The Snow League to one of the most iconic winter sports destinations in the world,\u201d Snow League CEO Omer Atesmen said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Related: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/snowbrains.com\/sundance-is-gone-from-park-city-shaun-white-just-replaced-it-with-a-22-foot-halfpipe-and-an-olympic-dream\/\">Sundance Is Gone From Park City \u2014 Shaun White Just Replaced It With a 22-Foot Halfpipe and an Olympic Dream<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Season 2 will make its final stop in Laax, Switzerland, on March 11-13, where it will crown its four champions of men\u2019s and women\u2019s freeskiing and snowboarding.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSeason One set the foundation,\u201d Shaun White said in his <a href=\"https:\/\/thesnowleague.com\/news\/season-two-schedule-announcement\/\">season two announcement<\/a>.<\/strong> \u201cWith Season Two, we\u2019re expanding and creating new ways for athletes to compete and for fans to engage.
