Happy Not-E3, to all who celebrate! Yes, it\u2019s that time again. Time for the entire industry to shout about what it\u2019s up to in a concentrated weeklong frenzy of conferences and trailer drops. Sony\u2019s State of Play showcase kicked it off, shortly to be followed by Summer Games Fest on 11 June.<\/p>\n

You might question the wisdom of trying to get the word out about your game at the exact moment when all your competitors are doing the very same thing, but that doesn\u2019t seem to stop anyone. Bring on the trailers!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Stuntman<\/em>! The original 2002 PS2 title by\u00a0Driver<\/em> studio Reflections was a cult classic, and showed us that driving really fast into things that break into smithereens or explode at just the right moment is a game experience there should be at least 50 more of.<\/p>\n

Well, guess what,\u00a0it\u2019s back<\/a>. We can confirm that once again it\u2019s about driving really fast into things that break into smithereens or explode, but this time with way more fidelity. No release date yet, it\u2019s simply \u2018coming soon\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Coming 15 September, Insomniac\u2019s take on Hugh Jackman\u2019s life story [citation needed] is big and bloody, taking plenty of cues from the well-received\u00a0Marvel\u2019s Spider-Man<\/em> releases. Here\u2019s\u00a0the trailer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The biggest shift here, other than all the blood, is the tone. Far less cheery quips, far more frowning. Truthfully to us this one looks in danger of being over-familiar, but we\u2019ll be happy to eat our words at clawblade-point this September.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hooray! If any game deserved a sequel, it was Supermassive\u2019s 2015 interactive horror masterpiece\u00a0Until Dawn<\/em>. And now there\u2019s a fresh batch of ill-fated teenagers to ham-fistedly save in a sequel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As the trailer shows<\/a>, this one\u2019s set in tropical climes rather than a frozen log cabin, but we doubt it\u2019ll be any more relaxing for the cast.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Another returning titan. This fresh\u00a0God of War<\/em> follows Faye, second wife of Kratos and mother of Atreus.\u00a0<\/p>\n

You might want to get the eye drops ready before watching\u00a0this trailer<\/a>, which is actually just a giant chunk of gameplay (more of this sort of thing please!) We\u2019re pretty sure there are colours in here that have never been shown before. It\u2019ll be a mighty workout for your hardware when it releases, which is\u2026 as yet unannounced. Speaking of familiar, we\u2019re into the \u2018I had that on PS1\/2\/3!\u2019 section now. Starting with\u00a0Rayman Legends Retold<\/em>, a re-telling of the 2013 platformer which itself represented a resurgence for the limbless PlayStation 1 mascot. Have a look at the trailer<\/a> and see what you reckon.<\/p>\n

So it\u2019s a re-retelling really, but an expertly crafted one. This time it\u2019s fully 3D, so the gorgeous painterly 2.5D visuals of the original are gone. We\u2019re not sure that\u2019s a good thing yet, but on 1 October when this one releases, we\u2019ll know for sure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We\u2019ve gone and done it now. Intoning the sacred words \u2018PlayStation 1 mascot\u2019 has summoned Lara Croft from her slumber, and she\u2019s arrived with a fresh trailer<\/a> that shows off the upcoming\u00a0Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
