Neither Niermann nor Lidl-Trek have confirmed this side of the move.<\/p>\n<p>Marc Reef \u2013 the DS who was at the forefront of Vingegaard\u2019s annihilation of the Giro d\u2019Italia \u2013 will replace Niermann at the top of V-LAB.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder-wrapper relative w-full border-t border-b border-border-light col-span-full my-3 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2\">\n<div class=\"mb-[30px] min-h-[30px] text-center\"><span class=\"font-utility-4 font-medium tracking-[1px] text-neutral-500 uppercase\">ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Speaking Tuesday in a media conference, team CEO Richard Plugge said Niermann will stay on in only a background role until he leaves on September 1.<\/p>\n<p>Reef has been overseeing all Tour de France preparations since Niermann handed notice.<\/p>\n<p>Plugge said Tuesday that Niermann delivered the stunning news only \u201ca few weeks ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I am disappointed to see Grischa leave, I have tremendous confidence in Marc Reef as our new head of racing,\u201d Plugge said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeveloping and nurturing both riders and staff is part of this team\u2019s DNA.
