As per Sony&#8217;s latest State of Play showcase, the 1500s-Japan-set action-RPG is scheduled for release 25th September, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X\/S. And there is a demo live, and available to play, right now.<\/p>\n<p>Announced back in 2024, Way of the Sword is the fourth mainline game in Capcom&#8217;s long-running series, which debuted on the original PlayStation back in 2001. Way of the Sword&#8217;s newly revealed September release date means it&#8217;s officially arriving some two decades after the series&#8217; most recent entry, 2006&#8217;s Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. For fans, it&#8217;s been a long one.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer takes more of a look at the narrative of the game, compared to previous trailers that have focused on gameplay. It&#8217;s all very dramatic as you&#8217;d expect. And today&#8217;s confirmation makes it the latest game from a major publisher to put a pin in the calendar well away from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/gta-6-everything-we-know-so-far-9357\">GTA 6<\/a>&#8216;s release date.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"injection_placeholder\" data-position=\"1\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Capcom has, of course, had a killer 2026 so far, with both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/resident-evil-requiem-sells-six-million-copies-march-2026\">Resident Evil Requiem<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/pragmata-2m-sales-milestone-hugh-diana\">Pragmata breaking sales records<\/a>. While the Japanese publisher does not necessarily need another release in 2026 to deliver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/capcom-financial-record-breaking-resident-evil-requiem\">an all-timer of a year<\/a>, it&#8217;ll be interesting to see if Capcom can make it a hattrick.<\/p>\n<p>Things are looking promising.
